This is one of my favorite places to camp. I tent camp and the sites (A-F) were recently redone and are awesome. The bathroom\bath house is always clean and the site host is always very accommodating.

We really enjoy the walk-in sites A-F. A & D have the closest assigned parking. We've been in E&F and it made quite a difference in terms of lugging things from the car to the site, and having to keep going back to the car to get things you left there. C & F are the most private at the tip of the peninsula. D,E,F overlook the beach side in the summer. A,B,C are on the quiet cove side, and in the summer, have a nice private swimming hole (the lake seems to get quite drained after Labor Day, making camping there not nearly as enjoyable or pretty, but that is true of all the lake areas in the region.). Kayak & paddle board rentals are $20/hour which is steep ($3/minute....really?). But given the pain of having to bring these items or the likelihood of getting your money out of a new kayak or paddle board, it's probably still worth it. There is. a gift shop but there wasn't much there in terms of ice cream. Plenty in the gift shop for general camping supplies, float toys, etc. Maybe the freezer had been picked over by the time we got there? We enjoy going to Swan Drive-In during our camping trips. It's nice to be so close to stores. Ice at Dollar General is $2.35 I believe (as of 7/23) and is a 3 minute drive. We had an issue with ants getting into our sealed bins (shouldn't have brought donuts!!). I would recommend putting all of your food in sealed ziploc bags. Since there is no electricity at these sites, I put my phone in airplane mode to preserve battery.

Beautiful campsite, right on the water. Hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful. Restroom facilities were very clean.

We had site E in the walk-in section. It was hard to find asnwers to some very specific questions I had when booking so here’s what I found. The parking lot is a very short and easy walk to the site, maybe a couple hundred feet at most. There is a water spigot in the middle of this group of sites and was directly across from ours and easily accessable. The view of the water is great with little obstruction. Access was pretty easy but quite rocky and we were able to get kayaks in the water just fine. Just watch the ankles. Last, the bathrooms were like a 10/10 for a campground. They were heated (it was chilly when we went), and surprisingly quite clean. They do have showers! Wish we knew adead of time so we didn’t stink when going into Blueridge. Anyway, they sort of set the standard for campground bathrooms. Downtown Blueridge is only about 10min away making it easy to go hangout there for the day. All in all, great campground and can’t wait to book again!

Excellent campsite! I’ve been staying here since I was a kid and always have a great time. The views from the tent only sites are wonderful and there are many hikes nearby. I recommend Falls Branch Falls and Helton Creek Falls (if you’re willing to take about a 45 minute drive).

Bathrooms and showers were nice and clean to use every time. The fire pit however is pretty deep with the grill a little high to be used to cook efficiently at our campsite.

Campground is well-maintained and shower facilities were very clean. The campground hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. Great tent camping and RV experience with access to the lake. Whether you’re camping, fishing, kayaking or hiking, Morganton Point provides an awesome experience.

Awesome place, beautiful view of the lake. Employees of the campground were nice and helpful!! Me and my finance will definitely be back but without a baby and hopefully without loud young adults next to us as well!!
