Nice wooded campsites, very clean bathrooms and the location was excellent for visiting Ellijay, Blue Ridge and other locations in north GA. The camp managers keep the grounds very nice and are attentive to any issues or needs you may have. We enjoyed hiking, the local apple orchards and visiting the downtown areas. Our only complaint was the campground had no playground.

We stayed at site 20 in a 32ft trailer 30amp. Site was beautiful, the entire park was beautiful! The staff was excellent! We had a great time and will be back for sure!

Here is what we liked/loved/enjoyed about Morganton Point Recreation Area Campground. 25 sites have 50/30 amp electric. Awesome, large swimming beach on Lake Blue Ridge with gorgeous mountain views. You can drive to beach and park in the large parking lot and pack a picnic lunch and eat at one of the many picnic tables. Rent paddle boards and/or kayaks. There is a trail from the campground to the beach if you decide to walk there. There are 43 campsites but some were too small for our 32 foot travel trailer. Some were uneven too. We were on Site 20 which was spacious and easy to back up into. There are several sites that can handle larger RV's. We had the chance to see the campground before camping there and circle the sites that we liked. Some sites have access to Lake Blue Ridge for swimming right from the campground. The proximity of this campground to popular Blue Ridge and many other popular mountain cities such as Blairsville, Young Harris, Hiawassee and not too far from Murphy and Hayesville, NC and it is in the tri-state area, coupled with the very affordable price (for electric and water was $31 and only $19 for Seniors) Morganton Point has had the same onsite manager for 6 years plus 2 camp hosts. The comfort station was clean and well-maintained. Good dump station. We look forward to camping at Morganton Point in the future.

An awesome campground! The new restroom on the sites 1thru20 loop was spotless and has heat! This was a solo scouting trip with the pop-up but I'll return with my wife and 5th wheel in March and often afterwards as this COE doesn't shut down and has power. There were several sites large and flat enough for my 35' 5er, notably #'s 1, 5, 6, 7, 18, 19 &20...others were large but have some leveling issues but not difficult. After site 20, there are 5 ro 6 suitable for my 20' popup but most are tent sites. The beach is very nice and there are numerous hiking trails in the area like the Benton-MacKaye.

35 foot travel trailer, site #20, iffy cell service, clean new bathroom, shower time set way too short but not a deal-breaker, beautiful location by Lake Blue Ridge, friendly hosts and managers. Spent an afternoon picking up trash along the road to the campground - quite an eye-sore but better now! Post office is close. One breakfast/lunch cafe nearby but didn't try it. Some sites are flat but many are angled or recessed. Not the least expensive federal campground but we had a pleasant stay - 5 days.

Our first time at Morganton Point and we will definitely return. Well maintained campgrounds with very clean restrooms. The 2 ladies who were the hosts were extremely helpful and friendly, they were the most interactive hosts we have ever encountered. They deliver firewood and ice right to your campsite when needed and always waved when going by, can't say enough good things about these 2 ladies. Can't wait for another camping trip to Morganton Point!!

One of the best campgrounds I've stayed at. Site 21 was almost level and large. Sites were separated a good distance. The lake was down so we enjoyed walking the shore. Want to kayak when we go back.
