Nice campsite. Tent placement is a bit more private than other campsites in the campground. Rangers were great. Saturday Ranger program on nocturnal animals was hands on, educative and engaging.

I booked a last-minute site that was available for a prime foliage weekend at Catoctin. Got out on the trails as early as possible, since I knew they'd be busy (they were). The campground was clean and well-managed, as usual. The other campers were small groups of families or couples, and overall it was quiet at night. The double site across from me at 4 adults and 7 children, so there was constant noise, and the parents let the kids roam the entire campground unsupervised every day, which involved a lot of screaming and playing in other people's sites. But this was an exception to the overall vibe at Owens Creek, which is absolutely beautiful in the fall.

Because I am a retired carpenter I really enjoyed the sawmill exhibit. Bathhouse was clean and excellently maintained.

Clean and quiet campground. Sites are always well maintained. Camp host is usually out and about and is always friendly. Also, park rangers patrol through frequently. Bring an axe to split the firewood, the pieces are fairly large. Old school candy and ice cream shop off Route 15 is worth the ride.

Great campground with clean bathhouses. Can't really make a poor choice when it comes to the sites, all are wooded and majority offer some privacy with exception of a few in the middle road.

Real nice small primitive campground with few rvs and big rigs. $15/nite for pass holders (senior-lifetime) plus no service charge is great! Wish they still answered the phone for reservations because the recreationgov.com site is a pain. Don't bother trying the phone because there is no answer. Fire wood is available for $5-large tub-(not a "bundle") enough for evening fire and morning fire. Nice hiking trails and camp sites are far apart and private. Use it now because most other campgrounds like this are gone...this one will be gone soon too.

Getting reservations had to be done online and not at the actual campground. We had to place our camper (motorcycle) on the blacktop surface, not really an issue. Was an okay CG, but have been to much better CGs
