We arrived later, in the evening. There was a detour. Scary fog and police lights at the top of the mountain, by the military area.Luckily, I was familiar with the park and hoped the woods road would lead me back down, past the group sites, and to the campground.There was no signage to help us.However, after finding our way back from the residential area, to the campground, we were amazed to find that someone, maybe the camp host, left us firewood and kindling ready, for us to use.Awesome way to end our vacation.

Stayed at Site 29 at the Owens Creek Campground for one night; really enjoyed my experience there. Having the creek bubbling in the background added to the serene atmosphere. Facilities and campsites were in good condition.

Camp site 29 needs some maintenance for rain drainage. We were caught in a thunderstorm, and the tent pad became a pool of water (coming from the uphill road and driveway). The staff was very helpful to give us warning when storm was coming, and he came to check on our flooding situation. The tent pad did start draining after storm passed. Otherwise very quiet and relaxing campground overall. Waking up to birds singing in the morning was amazing.

Site was in great shape despite a lot of recent rain. The place was quiet, not too crowded, camp host was great!Highly recommended!

It was wonderful! Nice trails. Clean and peaceful environment. Friendly attentive Hosts and the Park Ranger did periodic rounds. Quiet time was respected by all. I was outdoors but I felt safe there.

Located in a beautiful forest, this attractive campground had tent sites that were nicely spaced and with a minimal clearing of trees and undergrowth between sites for privacy. And we appreciated the level platform area for the tent site. Convenient hiking trails nearby.

Beautiful campground! Lots of great leveled spots to choose from even with handicap options. Each spot has a fire pit and picnic table and was surrounded with trees, the creek and hiking trails right from campground. We experienced a very rainy couple of days but still had a wonderful time camping at Owen's Creek! With proper gear no weather is bad! They supplied dry firewood for donation which kept us warm and dry as well. Thanks for the clean bathrooms as well and utility sink for dishes.

Love Owen's Creek campground! Such a beautiful area, one of my favorite places to explore in MD. Easy access to bathrooms, showers, and hiking. Will absolutely be back! Oh, and you might want to bring an axe to chop wood, the wood they provide tends to be rather large chunks and I've found it easier to keep the fire going strong if I break it down a bit more. Most sites have a good stump to chop on.

Very quiet and relaxing on my stay. I think only 5 other campsites were used. If most or all of the campsites are used I doubt that would be the case though.

Owens Creek is a small, well-maintained campground nestled in tall trees on the edge of the park. I prefer the hiking trails within driving distance, although there are walking paths from the campground itself. Wolf Rock and Chimney Rock are popular hiking destinations, so consider setting out early if you want to avoid the crowds. All in all, a quiet campground that's best for tents and couples/small families.

Really loved our stay at Owens Creek! Friendly campers, clean bathrooms, easy to get to for MD residents, easy to get to local shops, gorgeous landscapes and peaceful.

Nice park rangers, clean latrines, a few nice spots, but very tight for most. Limited privacy. But if you can find the right site, it's worth it. Beautiful surroundings.

The park is lovely, but the outdoor experience was ruined by the presence of a gas powered leaf blower starting at about 9:30 AM just as I was sitting down to my camping breakfast of bacon, eggs and coffee. I could have stayed at home in my suburban neighborhood if I had wanted to have my breakfast interrupted by gas powered lawn service equipment. I didn't seek out a rural camping experience to have to be exposed to the 100 decibel and greenhouse gas pollution of a leaf blower. You state that you do not allow gas generators but yet you sanction this. Please look into this. Thank you.

A great location, nicely wooded, and well spaced campsites. Always well taken care of sites and campground. We have never had any problems and are there about 2-3 times per year to camp. Some sites have smaller areas for tents; if you have a larger tent (as we do) be sure to look around or look closely at site photos.
