Stunning landscape surrounding the campground. Many easy day hikes within a short distance. Campsites nice. Staff friendly and helpful. Not sure how hot it would be in July and August, but I would come prepared for heat.

Many generators were on late at night and early in the morning. People were loud in their campsites, and several people were smoking. Our campsite felt very crowded between two others, like we were encroaching on our neighbors spaces when we were in our tent or at our fire ring. Fruita is very pretty and has the potential to be super nice, but there are too many people/campsites. And too many generators!

Such a lovely clean and well maintained campground in a beautiful area. Live the history here. The camp host was friendly and active in keeping the camp loops tidy. We will be back!

Fantastic campgrounds. Loop C is the only generator loop.

You have to register and pay online but there is no cell service at the campsite. You have to hang around the visitor's center to get anything done. But the visitor center staff cannot book for you. So if you have a cell phone without web service and a .gov account there is no way to get a campsite. The restrooms were clean and warm

Wide open spaces, spectacular views, dish washing station, flush toilets and mule deer roaming around. Loved our time at Capitol Reef. Make sure you catch the Ranger Talks, the pie and ice cream, some hikes and enjoy the amazing peace and quiet without WiFi and cell service.

My favorite campground in any of the national parks. Great hikes close by, and the Gifford House pie shop next door. Fantastic!!!

Fruita was a great campground and centrally located in Capitol Reef. The bathrooms were clean and the sites were well maintained and large. It was in the middle of a beautiful orchard but there wasn't much privacy between sites. Trails were accessible from the campground and it was right by the Gifford House. The cliffs were right there and it was a great place to stay. Loved camping here and exploring a less crowded park. Would love to return!

Visually appealing camping area. In the middle of an orchard. Fresh apples galore as well as Doe and Buck... Facilities are adequate. Camp host was very helpful and pleasant. Price is outstanding. There was a ranger led event the evening I was there but I did not attend. The topic seemed relevant. I was there a few days after an apparent flood so the only thing that wasn't great was the dried mud on the parking pad. That didn't affect my stay. I'd definitely return and would highly recommend.. of course be sure to makle your reservation well in advance.

I loved staying in the orchard! However, we were flooded out and covered in red mud in a small flash flood. A nice warning of "put your items on top of the picnic table when it rains" (not under) would have saved me a lot of angst and mud damage to my items. Seriously. No one gave us any indication of how the campground can flood (and often does so). Had I known about this possibility, I would have stored my items differently the day it rained and I wouldn't still be trying to get red dirt out of the carpet I use by my trailer steps.

Lovely views, helpful and friendly hosts, easy access. Lots of hiking nearby!

The sites are very close to each other. I was a bit unsure which fire ring & picnic table were ours because they were right next to the next door neighbor’s parking spot.

Very well run, clean, well maintained. Each site had good space. Nice grassy areas. Too many deer.

Great campground with lots of shade and hikes right from the campground

So far this was our favorite National Parks campground. Nestled among fruit orchards with dozens of resident deer as well as surrounding gorgeous scenery, it's definitely the most beautiful campground we've stayed at. There are 3 different hiking trails accessible from the campground. If it had showers and/or WiFi we would be even better, still a great campground.

Site was gorgeous - we so appreciated tenting in a beautiful grassy meadow. The staff was wonderful. Thanks for a great experience!
