Beautiful scenery! Highly recommended. Only bad side is no shower. I used it as a home base, it's a beautiful drive to some of the other National Parks such as Canyon Land and Arches.

The campground and my campsite were great. The Park itself is awesome, as is the Fruita area and the pies sold at the Gifford House in the mornings. If youre a hiker, Cohab Canyon trail trailhead is right at the campground and provides access to many other spectacular trails and destinations with varied degrees of difficulty. Its a short drive or walk to many other trailheads. No matter how you get there, dont miss Cassidy Arch, Hickman Bridge, or Navajo Knobs if youre up for it! Chimney Rock, Goosenecks, Rim Overlook, Fremont Gorge Overlook, and Petroglyphs are all well worth the effort. I had three full days and did all of these, and enjoyed the dead quiet evenings at the campground to recover. So glad I went!

Visitor Center was top notch with maps and info. The campground beautifully kept and so very quiet! We walked the River Trail everyday we were there and the Canyon hike was out of this world.

a very nice campsite, beautiful trees, and peaceful campground. sites are a little close together but not too bad. the Scenic Drive at Capital Reef is closed from May 2024 to October 2024 for construction. Don't forget to stop by the pie shop and get some delicious pie. SO GOOD!

The campground is very well maintained. The spaces are adequate and not crowded. Would be nice if the picnic tables and fire pit were located on the same side of the parking space as most of the RV doors are on most RVs The park is beautiful. Many great hiking trails. Incredible scenery. We had a great trip.

A gem of a national park. Excellent hiking trails from the campground.

Part of the campground was flooded due to heavy rain for the first time in decades and various conditions were not good, but the problems were solved with the dedicated care of the staff who manage the campsite. Also, among the few campgrounds we passed, the cleanliness of the toilets was the best.Thank you to the people who managed the campsite.

Good location for scenic drives and hikes. Most sites had shade but none had privacy, which meant it was quite loud at night. Not a lot of services (showers, general store) nearby.

We hade a wonderful time with a large group. Hosts were very good, the only thing I would do over is book a site away from the open camping because of the late night noise.

Beautiful area to camp inpastoral vs desert condition in some other Utah NP. But campsites are very close together with some tables and fire pit seemingly in the neighboring campground. Generator noise thankfully limited but still annoying. Lovely walk along the River by the campsite. Must have pie!

our campsite didnt have any level ground, so we had to sleep on an incline. Pretty area. Also very close to other campsites.

Shady campground. Sites close together no screening for privacy between sites. Certainly not my favorite campground

We loved this campground! So many lovely shade trees covering the whole place, next to the Fremont River, big clean sites. Must stop at the Gifford House for the baked goods. The hike on the Fremont River Trail right out of the campground was beautiful first thing in the morning. The whole park is just very scenic!!

We were very impressed with the beauty of the setting and cleanliness of the campground. The camp host was incredible. He went above and beyond checking in and rescuing us with help and tools to change a flat tire on our trailer! He was so pleasant and helpful. We had a wonderful experience in the park and grateful to stay in the Fruita campground.

Fruita was the cutest little campgound! The sites are really big, and they have a picnic table and fire pit. The washrooms are well maintained and have flushing toilets, but no showers. there is a dish washing basin outside the washrooms. The camp ground has live animals walking around. mainly deer. they are very friendly and will roam through your camp site and any given time. We had two dogs and the deer and dogs did fine! the camp ground is well shaded with trees. It is really hot at Capitol Reef national park, so a blessing to be shaded by large trees! The views surrounding the camp ground are unreal! So much beauty. You can walk around all night just admiring the beautiful red rock. nice hikes near by! and the house on the property sells pies, coffee, and cinnamon rolls in the morning, and they are extremely popular and usually have a long line up! You can also pick and eat as much fruit in their orchard during your stay! They had pears and apples in their orchard while we were there. If you want to pick and take with you, there is a weigh station and a money box to deposit money in! Highly recommend this fun camp ground for all lifestyles!! :)
