Nice campground with nice shade during the hot part of the day for most sites. Pads were new, plenty of space between sites and decent bathrooms.

the ground crew made a lot of noise with weed wackers and stuff. You do not need to mow the NP. Too much construction. Whay is the scenic drive closed. we dont need perfect roads. dirt roads is better. no more construcxtion. Leave it real and natural.

Excellent location and beautiful setting. The ranger proigrams by Ranger Jaime on geology and the power of water were excellent. We also enjoyed the program on the park's 50th anniversary year.

Loved our time at Capitol Reef. We recommend attending the evening ranger talks, buying a pie for lunch, and checking out some hikes. Enjoyed taking the Cohab Canyon trail up to some beautiful lookout points.

The campground was super clean and our spot was fully shaded. The camphosts were constantly working to keep up with the campground and the bathrooms were very clean. It was a perfect spot to take refuge from the desert heat. There is a potable water station, so getting water was not an issue. The spots are very spacious and we had a fire ring, a table, and a grill. The flies were an issue and I am glad I packed bug spray because that seemed to keep the flies at bay. Definitely go to the visitor's center for a hiking guide and to take advantage of the knowlegeable rangers. Any of the hikes will be enjoyable, but start early in the morning if you are there during the summer months. Do visit the Gifford house. There is an assortment of jarred vegetables and sauces that are delicious. Plus, take advantage of the delicious pies. They were a great treat at the end of the day! Overall, it was a great experience and the Fruita campground was an excellent home base.

As always, the Fruita CG was a very pleasant place to be! Even though it was full every night of our visit, it was quiet and clean due to effective management. Good job by the NPS and CG hosts!

This was the loveliest NP campground we stayed at during our trip. We are self-contained, so the lack of water and electric hook-ups was no problem and the views and atmosphere were so peaceful. Green grass, deciduous trees, fruit trees, critters (deer and horses) was so relaxing. And the bake/gift shop sells the best sourdough bread and pies! Would love to stay here again. This park seems to be a hidden gem among the Utah NP system
