This was a last-minute switch as we were supposed to stay at the Grand Canyon North ram Lodge, so I wasnt sure what to expect. This ended up being one of our favorite campgrounds ever! So quiet and peaceful with beautiful views, and deer everywhere. There was a great range program on Mountain Lions just a quick walk away that was engaging, and a star program later that was so/so. In the morning we got fruit pies and cinnamon rolls from the Gifford House and that was such a highlight. Will absolutely come back to this campground!

The fact that we cant use generators made our stay unbearable with height temps in the low nineties, went to bed at 9:30 and couldnt sleep, both nights were the same, wife said she will refuse to come back ever

Great experience overall. Only issue was no where to wash dishes. We went in the spring

Facilities were good, however the campsites were super close to each other with absolutely 0 privacy, not ideal

Great location, next to the orchard... a whole family of deer are frequent visitors... was able to observe a deer fight near the apple orchard... very peaceful over all.

The Fruita campsite was great. Even though it was full, it didn't seem overly crowded. It is flat so you are close to your neighbor, but there isn't a problem if you snag a larger site. Other campers were considerate at night. Unfortunately, all the orchards were closed as some of the fruit weren't quite ripe yet. We were there when the Fremont River overflowed on Aug 17 into the campground. Fortunately, there were no campers on the sites that were flooded. We plan to visit again in 2024.

This should be considered a jewel of a campground for the NPS. Great for kids with a little river to play in. Surrounded by beauty. Great tree coverage in the middle of the desert. Nice places to walk or hike, and fruit trees to eat from. The ice cream and pies at the shop are worth note as well.

We have camped here many times and this time was great as always. Quiet, peaceful place with awesome views of the sandstone cliffs

Great family campground. Lots of shade. Right next to the Fremont river. Picked apricots from the orchard. Watched the deer every morning and evening. Kids had a blast.

The campgrounds themselves were nice. Shade trees, grass, deer roaming, stream running in the back, and room in between the sites. We loved the drive through the park. Capitol Reef was just amazing. My mom doesn’t get around well so it was great to be able to get up close and personal with the rock formations and petroglyphs. The only reason I only gave it 4 stars is the fact that it was 100* out at 9pm. They make everyone turn off their generators at 8. The sun is still up for another hour. We finally gave up and went for a drive so we could run the generator until it wasn’t 100* anymore in our van.

A lovely campground - lots of mature trees and located near the orchards. Plenty of room between campsites. Short walk to the amphitheater for Ranger talks

Visited right after snow had fallen, creating a beautiful campground and park. Fellow campers were kind and considerate, making the stay even more enjoyable. The only thing to note is it might be difficult to figure out which campsite is yours given how they're marked, but just ask around to make sure and you should be good!
