I booked an ADA campsite because my friend who was with me has to use a CPAP machine to sleep due to medical diagnosis. When we arrived at the campsite the power box was locked up and there was no one in the campsite to help and we couldnt find even a phone number anywhere to call someone for help. There was a pay phone in the campground but it had a note saying that the coin slot was jammed, so it didnt even work. My friend basically had to stay up all night because she couldnt sleep without her machine.

Great campground. Clean bathrooms with sinks and flush toilets. Lots of wildlife. Walking distance to trailheads for hiking. Only downside - NO SHOWERS. If you want a shower, you'll have to pay for one at the Chuck Wagon in Torrey ($13 per person for 10 minutes as of June 2024).

Location was great for seeing Capitol Reef National Park. Our sites were near the restrooms which were kept clean. The pies from Gifford House were a treat, and within walking distance, but be sure to get there early!

This is the only of many national parks that do not allow generators for at least a few hours a day. Our campsite was listed as having electric, to discover it is for medical use only. We left early and enjoyed a beautiful BLM area outside the park, with no limits on generator use.

The wind blew. The snow squalled. The thermometer bounced well below freezing. Neighboring tenters shivered. The campground had just a few visitors. But we were safe & warm in our pickup camper watching mule deer wander through the campground.A walk along the Fremont River revealed a set of mountain lion tracks in the muddy pathway.A brisk walk to the visitor's center (2.4 mile round trip) was well worth the steps.Joan, the camp host, newly arrived from Tennessee was a big plus.Still one of our favorite places. We'll be back when the apples blossom and the general store is open.John & Corine Hesslink, Grand Junction, Colorado

We love fruita campground! There’s fresh pie at the Gifford house every morning at 9 am, lots of deer walking around eating the fruit, and a little river for kids to play in. This specific campsite was good (B24), there’s a big tree that gives some shade which was nice, but it is right next to the bathroom and the only thing was people kept walking through our campsite to get there. It wasn’t too much of a bother for us, but just keep that in mind for whoever has this campsite - if you want more privacy then probably pick a different site. Overall, we love this campground. We’ve stayed twice now and have had a great stay both times.

Fruita is in an excellent location to access the trails and roads of the park. We enjoyed hiking in the canyons and walking along the river. The campground is laid out oddly, some services are on the wrong side of the campsite. This is a poor layout when a person cannot open his door to his own picnic table and fire ring, but must walk around the vehicle to access them. We had site 24 which is laid out this way and made use of the picnic table almost impossible to enjoy, while the neighbors was right in front of our door. I could see where this could cause difficulty between occupants.

We loved how beautiful, clean and spacious the campground was. Even though it rained (flooded) our first day, we were out hiking the following day. It took a day for them to clear the scenic road after the flooding, but they were quick about it so we could do that part of the park by our final day. Loved the goodies and gifts at the Gifford house. The Cohab hike, right near the camp ground is a must do!

Nice campground, paved roads and large sites many with shade. Fruit trees prevalent that you could pick fruit and enjoy. Ranger programs posted. Clean bathrooms.
One of my favorite Deseret campgrounds in Utah. Especially when the trees are green and the contrast with the Red Sandstone is spectacular

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
