Roomy quiet sites with a view in a great location. Clean restrooms. although there was an issue with a toilet in the women's restroom that took more than a day to resolve. BTW don't miss the Geology Talk over at the campground amphitheater, it'll be worth your time.

Campsites are fairly close to each other and not a lot of trees to separate them but a nice clean campground. The park hosts were wonderful. The deer frequented our campground often and it was so great to see the barn, horses and little house from campground. Geology lecture volunteer was very good. Dont miss the pies made from the local orchard fruit. Delicious.

Six visits in five years, this is a statement.

Lovely campground in the heart of Capitol Reef. It felt like we were transported back in time to a simpler, more communal life. We loved that we could walk from the campground to the pieshop. Sooo good!

This little campground was clean and tidy. The bathrooms were real flush toilets and well maintained (no showers but that was fine). The location was ideal for the hikes that did (Cassidy Arch, Cohab Canyon, Hamilton Bridge and next door to the Gifford House)!! The property managers were great and accommodating. I liked the small feel of the campground. Some of them are so big and chaotic. This one is quaint. Two thumbs and I recommend it.

This is a very well-maintained campground and is an excellent example of what the National Park Service does best: provide the best experience for the most people across the widest range of visitors. The restrooms were very clean and heated. The host was friendly and efficient. Other campers were generally considerate and respectful. The campground was well-ordered and divided among the many varied types of campers. The only reason I gave "very good" instead of "excellent" was that, for me, it was crowded. The campground was nearly full. However, I believe that the space was optimized very well, and had it been enough space for me the rest of the campground would have been empty! If you're visiting Capitol Reef this is an excellent base of operations for the many day trips one could take at the Park.

Our favorite campground weve visited so far , including Colorado, NM, Texas, Maine and big brother Zion NP. Charming, quiet and lovely.

Beautiful. Nice heated bathrooms and such a great location, trails start from the campground, deer wandered through all the time. Zero cell service.

Beautiful campground inside a beautiful park! Billions of stars in between the red-orange rocks with a green prairie set in the center. So unique to have a fruit orchard steps away from the campground!

Breathtaking scenery. Beautiful campground with lots of grass under a canopy of large trees, with soaring red and brown cliff walls in every direction. Hiking available right from the campground, and fruit orchards (red and green apples, and peaches were ripe during our visit) you can eat on a stroll or buy for $2 a pound.

We really enjoyed our time at Fruita campground in Capitol Reef NP. We loved the orchards, horses, deer and trails nearby. The pies from Gifford House were delicious. We did not like the barking dogs in the campground- dogs barking and their owners (standing next to them) did not try to quiet them-and this includes the campground host! Wish you had showers but appreciated the heated bathroom.

We love Capitol Reef and the Fruita campground. Clean and warm bathrooms, beautiful setting, and so much to explore. Thanks.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful, peaceful campground. We had to interrupt our stay one night because of snow, but returned the next day and got a first come first served site. The host is very friendly and helpful. The pies are a bonus!

Don't believe the website. last spring the website clearly said "first come first serve after oct. 1st" and it would not allow reservations after that date. So we reserve what it allowed an planned on staying two more days as we would have been the first one in the site. The campground hosts informed us that we had to move out as someone else had reserved the site. We were not the only campers in the campground with the same problem. We had traveled several hundred miles with multiple vehicles and families and had reserved multiple sites. We had to relocate or go home. I double checked and there was no email from recreation.gov that the were extending the reservation period. Seems like a unfair situation that ruined a portion of our vacation.

We love this campground and area. Unfortunately the tent sites were in low spots and our tent filled with water due to wonderfully needed rains.

Friendly staff. Lots of dims trying to pet or feed deer. They don't pay attention to signs. Deer are getting accustomed to people which is bad.

This was our second time at this campground. We love it! The restrooms are clean, well lit, and adequate number. The camp hosts we’ve met are helpful and friendly. There are at least two trails that you can get to very easily from the campground. It is very close to the Gifford House for buying yummy pies and other treats. We enjoyed the ranger talks we attended (one day time and one evening). We were tent camping both times we stayed here, and found adequate areas for a tent. We loved picking apricots at the orchards! We love Fruita Campground.

Great place to stay. Get to Gifford house in the morning before the pies and cinnamon rolls sell out
