It was after the Gov shutdown, the park rangers and people in charge did their best!

This was the perfect park campground: clean, quiet, nice restrooms, ranger talks, great hiking, we had a great stay

Very easy to access, we loved that it is so close to the Gifford House-which is a must visit!

Beautiful, tree covered campground. Great for families with middle. Clean bathrooms. Right next to Gifford house so you can get the yummy pies.

Love the campground, well kept, great ranger talks, not as congested as Zion. Be sure to get a homemade pie from the Gifford house.

We came during the "off season" and it was really nice! Campsite wasn't too busy and it seemed clean and well maintained.

The campground was nice with large spaces and clean bathrooms. Highly recommend doing the Cohab Canyon Trail out of the campground up to the North Overlook. This was a really cool hike with a great view. We participated in the ranger program the evening we stayed there and our kids really enjoyed it. Overall a great stay.

Great location for park access and a few hikes. Close to Visitor Center. Seasonal Fruit trees for consumption or u-pick $ on site. Hard to get a reservation. Several large groups in non-group sites made it noisy and feel overcrowded. Very dusty as almost no grass areas. Concrete and dusty. Some tree spots. Great camp hosts work hard. Small store open limited hours on site with handcrafted items and limited food. Not a grocery store. Very far from a grocery store. Bathrooms very busy. Overall great stay as we were prepared with our own food and a camper.

This campground is a treasure! Amazing views from the campsites to the surrounding cliffs, nice facilities, and breathtaking views of the night sky. Get up early to get a pie at the Gifford House. There was a line waiting for them to open at 9:00, and it was a rush. You could probably wait until 10:00 and still get pie without a crowd, but don't wait too long. There were deer all over the property due to the numerous orchards. There was an RV grey water dump as well as a fill hose, but there was a line at checkout.

The campground was beautiful. Set amongst orchards and historic buildings. We picked peaches and apples from the heritage fruit trees planted by Mormon settlers. We would highly recommend a stay in Fruita Campground.

Beautiful trail head at the campground and drinking water stations were a mega plus.

We stayed in mid-March when it was snowing back home in Montana. Though cool, we had a great stay. The visitors center is small and informative with very helpful staff. The ranger at the petroglyph panel was very interesting to talk to. Ask about the pit houses the Fremont people used. It's well worth it to drive out the east entrance just for the views alone plus we saw a herd of mountain sheep along the Fremont River toward that entrance. Simply spectacular.Fruita campground was clean and quiet, but mostly full all five nights we stayed. The pies and cinnamon rolls were a perk to staying there and a bargain.

Beautiful setting for the campground. Bathrooms were kept clean. Only reason that this isnt a five star review is because the campsites were so close. It was like camping in a fishbowl. But l would return.

This is a beautiful shady campground. Our site was perched up on a small incline which made setting up out tent challenging, but we managed and still loved the campground. Bathrooms were clean, the ranger talks were terrific, it was very quite at night, and you could hike from the campsite and walk to the pie shop. The creek (Freemont river) also runs next to the campground which made for great cool offs in the evenings.

Lovely area and a really nice campground. Extra special hosts were always cheerful and helpful. Lots of wonderful red canyon drives a hikes with over the top views. Hiking trail head parking areas are small for the trail popularity so you have to get there really early to get a spot.
There is a huge deer herd and they OWN the area so are bold and unafraid. They wander through the campground and will sometimes follow you! We also had daily visits by a turkey in our site. The ranger programs are fabulous too.
The area is filled with fruit tree orchards and We were there when the apples were ready and could pick them. We hope to go back in the spring to see the orchards in bloom.
Capitol Reef is a wonderful place to visit.

The campsite was great with "visitors (deer)" at night. The dumpster is convenient and clean. Spacing between each other is good too.
