We spent a night at Fruita and woke up to the vehicle telling us it was 22 degrees. I have never been so appreciative of a heated bathroom, and I didn't even know I appreciated them until a few nights previous. Fruita is a nice, quiet stop in the winter, and is easy access for the top of the park. I'd happily choose this campground again!

We had a great time at this campground. Wish we had stayed longer than two nights. The campground was really lovely. the trees provided shade, it was truly an oasis in the desert. The campground was clean, quiet and sites were not on top of each other. The deer the live in the campground were fun to watch and everyone was respectful that this is their home. the only weird thing was the fire pits and picnic tables were on the driver's side of the sites, so for people with trailers, you have to walk around your camper to use them. but not a big deal. Oh, and the pie, delicious. It was a great stop between Moab and Zion. A bit out of the way, but not one to miss.

Nice, shady campground. The host, Joan, was knowledgeable and friendly. Not much separation between sites so we got to know our neighbors!

One of the nicer NPS campgrounds we have stayed at. Spaces weren't too close to each other and there were nice trees for shade as well as a U-pick traditional orchard. There were also adequate bathrooms with a choice of convenient locations all with two sinks.

We loved the Capitol Reef Natl Park and the Fruita Campground. The location of the campground was between the pick your own apples and the Gifford House. Make sure you buy a homemade pie when at the Gifford House. Cherry was phenomenal! We saw several deer and the site was easy in and easy out.

A nice green oasis in an rocky and inhospitable, but great environment. We were warm welcomed by the volunteer-administrator. Restrooms were clean, and the tent site was good.Nearby was the visitor center, providing excellent informationNearnyd

Most wonderful campground. Felt like it was a step back in time. The deer gathered around us by the campfire at night and the stars were so bright.
We ate fresh pies from the store on site and picked apples in the orchards. Hikes in and around Capital Reef were easily accessible.

Beautiful location. Good hiking trails. We were in a self contained motorhome so we didn’t use the public bathrooms. Grounds were very well maintained. Would love to return. Difficult to get a reservation.
