This was a lovely campground! Very clean and pretty well spaced apart. The bathrooms seemed to be heated and had flush toilets. Decent dump facilities for a camper too. Right next to the historic Gifford House which opens at 9 and offers pies and baked goods - yum!

Capitol Reef is one of my favorite places to visit. The rangers are friendly and helpful. I particularly like the daily ranger programs. With so many hiking trails you can find one for every age and ability. It is hard to decide on a favorite walk, but I like the Freemont River walk.A trip to the Gifford House is a must.

Fruita Campground is not the best place if you are looking for top services. But if you want to spend time close to real nature and sleep under a starry sky is your place!

Judy was an angel, helping our group find each other and even stay an extra night!

We love Fruita campground and have been here many times. Site B50 would be best suited for a trailer or camper. We had a tent and the grassy dirt area was too sloped to put it up so we used the cement driveway next to our car which turned out to be just fine but we would have preferred to be a little further from the road. This site is on the other side of the B loop and close to many of the other sites so it can feel a bit crowded and it also does not have a fire ring for campfires. But the good news is that it has plenty of shade!

Super crowded. Not every car camping spot has flat place for tent or fire pit. Mine had neither.

One of the nicest campgrounds Ive been in lots of shade, great bathrooms, great camp host who was extremely helpful (thanks Dan). Scenery is amazing, rode our bikes, hiked a little and had a wonderful time.

We were at a site in loop B. There was no fire ring. The table was on very uneven ground. The paved site was fine. Other sites would have been much nicer as we could not even put chairs out it was so uneven. Loved the Pie from the store. Would go back but would pick a different loop . I would hesitate to go if the scenic drive is closed.

It’s a really great campsite. The surroundings are amazing. We only stayed one night but could easily have stayed longer. We also enjoyed the park. There are some nice trails especially to Hickmans Natural Bridge. Also our kids loved the old school.

Site driveway was slanted. Hard to get van level. Bathrooms were clean. Grounds were open and well maintained. Close to so many trails in the park. Park staff were very helpful .

Nice area. Ranger presentations in the amphitheater are very interesting.

We love this campground. It is like an oasis in the desert. Camp host was nice and helpful. There are couple hiking trails right from the campground. And their pies just amazing!!!! Be aware they are good for 4 days without refrigeration, so make sure you get extra for the rest of your trip. The only thing was- we didnt have a fire ring on our side ( but it was too windy anyway to have a fire) and it was a hard to park our 21 feet trail on that spot. The most of the sides are very roomy. We would love to come back.

Great campground. Do not recommend site B50 for a trailer unless it is a very small one. Very hard to get in and out of. Also - the tent campers walk thru the site to access the bathrooms. Since the site borders a hill, there is no space to seat or have a campfire.
