Fruita was great. We were in the minority as tent campers, staying one night at a walk-in site and two in a regular site. Both were lovely, with a big tree providing shade at the walk-in site (only about 100 feet from the car). Lots of amazing hikes. Cassidy Arch is fantastic, but a steep hike to get to it. Grand Wash is a nice stroll. And many acres of fruit trees to wander through. We tried strawberry-rhubarb and peach pies--both yummy.

The Fruita campground is one of our favorites. This year, unfortunately, the trees were pollinating , so my wife's allergies flared dramatically, putting a bit of a damper on our visit. Some of the trees shed sticky little seeds that stick to everything - car, trailer, shoes, etc. Don't camp under one of those trees! Still it's a great campground in a beautiful setting.

Nice campground, clean restrooms. The scenic drive was pretty and the hike to Cassidy Arch was fun.

Wish we had been notified of change in reservations for NOV.... originally campground was first come first serve starting in Nov, but that changed and many people were caught not knowing about the change and hadn't made reservations.. and had to change sites....

What a charming campsite. Theres not a lot of privacy, but the old cottonwoods and other trees provide cool shade, and its really so neat to be in the heart of the park and right next to the small but mighty Fremont River. We really enjoyed. We also really appreciated the extra effort to shield lights inside and outside of bathrooms - incredible stargazing from our tent because of that. It also meant for kinder night time bathroom visits with better lighting. We were inspired to work on the issue back at our home!

Nice campground, great spot for a family to camp. Definitely is a more established camp ground, camp sites are on top of each other. If you are looking to get out into the woods and away from people this is not the place for you.

This is an amazing campground in the most beautiful part of America! There were two Campground hosts, and they staggered their duties. We spoke with the female host and she was very knowledgeable and friendly and share some great information. We will absolutely come back and we really enjoyed our stay!

It's convenient to camp in the park, but the set up is backwards. Your picnic table and fire ring are on the opposite side of your door, so you have to walk everything around your RV to eat. There's no electricity, which we were aware of, but it gets very hot in July. Bathrooms were clean and had electricity, water and flush toilets.

This campground is beautiful and quiet. The host that was on duty that night was very helpful and friendly. He was very informative and helped to make hiking suggestions. There is a wonderful trail across the street form the campground. Make sure that you try the delicious pies and cinnamon buns that are sold next to the campground.

This campsite is so lovely! The host was great and the sites were spacious and clean. Take the 4 minute walk to Gifford Homestead early to secure your pie!!!

We absolutely loved Fruita Campground AND Capitol Reef as a whole. We hope to return to Fruita Campground as the atmosphere is delightful. Horses, deer, trails, pie, cinnamon rolls - what more can you ask for! The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful, posting the weather daily and brochures and maps available. We were very sad to leave. We ?? percent recommend Fruita CG! ??
