Even though they fumigated for bedbugs the week prior to our visit. 5 guests ended up getting bit by bedbugs. We found live bed bugs in the cabin on the last day while cleaning up and all of us had to steam and sanitize all belongings before bringing them into the house when we left the island. I wish I was notified prior about the bedbug fumigation because we would have chosen to camp instead. Instead 5 households were put in danger of bedbug infestation due to lack of communication. I informed the people in charge upon checkout that they need to fumigate again and hoped that they would check better after fumigation. I have still yet to see any partial or full refund from my stay.

Cabin #18The park office said the cabin had Roaches, but had been treated. The entire cabin had Roaches especially the OVEN. The cabin has Bed Bugs as well. Everyone has the bite marks. Bugs were in the corner of the wood on the boards and frame of the bed.The hot water ( water less tank ) lasted 10 seconds for every shower taken. Even when flowing the instructions on the wall. Run the sink hot water at the same time as running the hot water in the shower. Posted on FB Capelookout fishing page. 97 response with several people who had stayed in cabin 18 and ones after us. They all said the same thing. For the money, $120.00 a night I would be embarrassed knowing that I had been informed about it and still allowed people to stay. I am not a tent person but I will now but before I ever get a cabin again.

Been going over for 32 years with no complaints. This year I have never seen so many cockroaches and ants inside the cabin #18 we went to see the Rangers and they handed half a can of raid. Now as I said been going for years and yes it is permeative housing and insects are there but they were out of control this year inside the cabin, turn the lights on at night theres 30 - 40 cockroaches on the floor, on counter and sink, hit them with raid and another band would replace them. One in our party found a live one in his bunk ! We suggested that it should be pest bomb and closed to deaf ears ! Never thought Id be writing this review but someone needs to know.

Everything was excellent at usual. This trip I brought my new puppy, a red fox labrador. I am bringing her back May 21 on my next trip with my sister. Can’t wait to get there. John Branch
Great destination for fishing. Nice rustic cabins with no frills.
