Just an incredible place to visit. No hotels no restaurants. No noise. Just the ocean. Cant wait to go back. Cabins were what we expected. Just a place to sleep and get out of the elements. Rangers and volunteers were great. Ferry service folks were great too. Going to book for next year!!

The cabins are very simple but that's not a bad thing. I can't describe how beautiful and quite the beach is. The fishing is awesome and the history on the island is neat as well. My brothers and I had an amazing trip. We all agreed that we will definitely be back. The only complaint is the flies they are relentless however they eventually mosey on. I truly hope people don't ruin this awesome national park. The generator plug is a 20amp 120v plug for those who are wondering, and they do sell regular gas and OFF ROAD diesel (red diesel) that's important to know.

The office staff was excellent in helping resolve a driving permit issue. Tonya in the office is a resource the Park Service should value. Supervenient Jeff West has changed the culture of this park. The staff is now friendly and very helpful. That has not always been the cast. I have been going to the park annually for 40 plus years. The is the best staff ever.

The water heater stopped working one night and the Park Maintenance people fixed it promptly the next morning, very satisfied with the quick response!

This place is amazing. The cabins allow you to experience this remote beach in comfort. A definite must do!

This was my second trip and the guys with me, their first. The cabin was clean and everything worked like it should. We were all very comfortable, except for those folding chairs provided in the cabin. Those things must be derived from the Iron Maiden torture device! The trip was a great time and we all agreed to make it an annual or semi-annual trip.

While on the island we had a few days of bad weather. Because of the weather the Park Service employees were not able to get to the island from the mainland. The guest and volunteers were on the island without being able to buy ice. Arrangements should have been made to have someone there 24/7 to handle needs of guest to the island. There was plenty of notice that bad weather was coming and that the park service employees were not going to be able to get to their jobs.

The cabin was better than I hoped for. The fishing was very good and the weather cooperated. The staff on the Island was first rate and very courteus.

Overall the visit was good. I do not like nor do I think the NPS should be taxing my truck. The ORV fee is nothing but an extra tax that the NPS should not be charging. It does nothing but put money in the coffers and offers nothing to the consumer. If there was anything gained such as better roads or maintaining the road the tax may be understandable. In some cases the beach could remain open around turtle nest instead of closing miles of beach and making it unavailable to fishermen. In my last visit about 18 of 24 miles of beach was closed.

7th visit. Cabins can be excellent depending on location and which one. This trip: 12 has a great view and everything worked well. 20 has no view, malfunctioning water heater and most annoyingly ANTS which invade all supplies if youre not equipped with insecticide, but we were.Staff are very laid back, easy to engage, and non intrusive which is very important and appreciated!! We had a great experience

The Davis Ferry service was awesome. Even bringing over items needed, however the park service nor the volunteers would accept or place at cabin (less then 900 feet away) items that were brought over. These items had to be left at dock until we returned from the lighthouse. We rent several cabins at a time multiple times a year, simple customer service of placing items at the volunteer office or cabins should be expected.

My experience on South Core Banks was excellent. Our experience with the park service personnel and volunteers was excellent. Our cabin experience was good. We had to light the oven pilot light every time we used the oven. The cabins could really use two tables instead of one. Most of the chairs were in bad condition and very uncomfortable. The cabins used to have better chairs. I have been going there for over 20 years and realize that conditions can be harsh, but I feel like they could do a better job with the cabins.

This was a great place to go and unplug from the daily hustle and bustle. The cabins are definitely "rustic" but exactly what we were expecting.

Beautiful place. We enjoyed our stay. Cabins are looking rough but for fishermen it is ok. For women and family some improvements are needed. Blinds would be nice in the bathroom. A back porch light would be nice. Thanks for allowing this place to remain open to the public.

Good time had by all. Weather was nice one day and not so good the next day but still had a good day. Only thing I didn’t know about was that you could not have an open beer in the side by side we were sitting in (not driving) at the tune of $150 ticket.
