The location and experience is absolutely unique. You can see the Ocean and the sound from your bed if you like. It's super basic but also cute somehow. We would definitely go again.

These cabins are always surprisingly nice. Hot water in the shower worked great. Bed was actually quite comfortable. Even the ranger on the island that checked our fishing licenses was quite friendly.

Cabins are rustic but adequate. The scenery makes it totally worth it. We did not take a vehicle and that worked out fine. The ferry had carts for our stuff and a national parks volunteer drove our stuff there. Our first visit and were already planning our next trip.

Rustic cabins but you have hot water, full bathroom, screened in porch, and a gas stove and oven. It is great having a secure shelter during poor weather conditions. The rangers are always friendly. We had an issue getting the pilot light on the oven started. A maintenance person was there early the next morning. Be aware that the mattresses are sometimes in poor condition so take extra linens if this is important to you. Usually there is just one mattress in each cabin that is torn. I don't think the parks are getting the federal funds needed to maintain these mattress with the harsh weather conditions on Core Banks. Five stars for location and the fact there are shelters to rent to enjoy this location.

Had a great trip. The cabins we stayed in where all clean. The water was hot and the stove worked great. We also had a very good experience with the staff. Highly recommend a stay if you have never done it.

The Davis Ferry service was awesome. Even bringing over items needed, however the park service nor the volunteers would accept or place at cabin (less then 900 feet away) items that were brought over. These items had to be left at dock until we returned from the lighthouse. We rent several cabins at a time multiple times a year, simple customer service of placing items at the volunteer office or cabins should be expected.

What a great spot for some down time to fish and relax. Make sure to bring what you need ,as there's nowhere on the island to get it. You may get ice at the checkin, the ferry landing at Davis has everything you could think of .Great trip and caught a lot of fish.

The staff were efficient and helpful.
The cabin was in the worse shape of any I’ve stayed in on the island.
The water heater was almost uncontrollable. Scalding hot to cold.
