I really like the Oregon Inlet campground. The natural beauty of the coastline is fantastic. The staff was great.

Great location, however, cover on shore power pedestal is broken and lets water in when it rains and trips the GFCI

Grounds are well kept and bathroom facilities spotless. Site C11 about 4 off level from side to sidefront to back perfectly level. Utilities work as they should. Will definitely have a return visit.

Beautiful location, good electric supply and water. Bathrooms are spotless. Sand spurs can be a problem for dogs and watch out for cactus offshoots - they are awful. No security at all at night which is a bit concerning. Security gates would make sense

Other than the lack of hot water for showers and the actual distance to the beach, a good experience.

Over all a very nice location near the beach, just south of Hags Head. Most of the sites have plenty of space between them. It's often quite windy at the Outer Banks in Spring, and it was while we were there. Most of the RV/TT spaces are too short and require parking the tow vehicle side ways. This could easily be remedied if they were to remove the parking blocks at the end of the side pad. Too often tow vehicles intrude into the narrow road that loops through the park, making it really tight while towing the TT and possibly hitting something. The restrooms were fairly clean. The showers are like "beach showers" with the top and bottom of the door open and this can be cold in the Spring and Fall and just fine in the heat of the summer. The water is warm and the temperature is not adjustable. The showers don't open until the first week in April. Highway 12 is very close by and can be noisy in the campground. We had good cell coverage with Verizon, and WIFI is available at the entrance ranger station. We had a 30 foot Travel Trailer with a tow vehicle. We camped at Oregon Inlet in a Travel Trailer.

We loved Oregon Inlet! The dunes and beach are gorgeous. You can't see the ocean from the site; the dunes block it (which helps when it's wicked windy). Things to know: the sites are completely open; no shade. They are fairly close to each other, so no privacy. The sites aren't very long/deep, so after parking our 23' trailer we had to park the truck sideways on the site in order to fit. The only thing that really bothered me there is that the dump station is off the campground, across the main road, and over at the marina. Not an easy trek if you're hauling a honey wagon... and the showers were closed (in February), so we had to utilize our camper. Keep this in mind when booking. Have fun!

Great campground that we have used many times while exploring Alligator and Pea Island National Wildlife Refuges. Only sad thing is that they do not keep showers open all year.

Thanksgiving weekend at campsite C11. The weather was windy and rainy with mild temperatures during our mini vacation, but that did not deter us from finding things to do. We toured the Wright Brothers National Memorial, Ft. Raleigh, downtown Manteo, Bodie Lighthouse, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, Currituck Lighthouse and took the free ferry to Okracoke. We even managed a couple of walks on the beach between raindrops. The campsites are spacious but keep in mind there is no shade and campfires are forbidden. We were unable to utilize the outdoor grill due to the windy weather, which is not uncommon on an oceanfront beach. We prepared our meals in a crock pot or on our propane stove. There were very few tent campers the weekend we were there. The rainy, windy weather was not favorable for awnings, pop-up tents or traditional tents. The campground restroom was not heated and the showers are open top and bottom to the outdoors. The showers operate by a pull-string, so be sure to let the water warm up before stepping under the shower head. Having a large, warm bathrobe handy makes stepping out of the warm shower into the cool air more tolerable than using just a towel to dry off.The electric and water hookups were welcome amenities for our travel trailer and worth the few extra dollars per night. The marina was easy to find but the location of the dump station within the marina was not easy to find. The dump station is located behind the new building, to the left in the parking lot. At first we thought we were entering the construction zone but the road wraps around the barriers. Despite the weather, we had a wonderful stay at Oregon Inlet Campground and highly recommend staying here during the less-crowded off season.

Wonderful to have a beach with no commercial development for miles. Electric and water hookups are convenient and beach is a short walk from campground. I was there a chilly and windy week, but that made it even better. Only one boathouse was open, however, until April 2 (the day I left). Two would have been nice.

The camp ground was clean. The spaces are small, so if your rig is larger than 25 feet, you are gonna have a hard time parking your tow vehicle in front, since your not supposed to allow your tires to touch the grass. We were in loop C, and the bathroom in the loop was not open. And at the other loop where the bathroom was open, the outdoor showers were boarded shut. The spaces are also not very level. It did have 30 and 50 amp power, water for the space we stayed in. But upon our arrival their was a couple in a class C that thought they could just be in our space. If your gonna go in February, dont plan on fishing to much, but there is still plenty to see around the area. Look up YouTube videos for Oregon inlet, you will see what I mean. The wind will push your rig around too, a lot, be ready.

This is a very nice campground. We spent four nights there in our RV at a site with electricity and water. I brought a telescope to view the stars at night, but I was disappointed with the bright lights of the marina and the Coast Guard station. Other than that, we had an enjoyable time.

Can there be a system set up so if I am there a week I dont have to move. I had to move after 5 nights so 2 different groups could come in on my original site for one night each. I saw lots of people move sites and most could be avoided with some management. It would just require moving a few people around so everyone could stay on one site all week.

Nice campground. The rangers were amazingly welcoming and informative. I loved the location - Oregon Inlet on one side and the Atlantic on the other! The bath houses were clean and the warm water stayed warm!
