I arrived in the dark and found everything easy to access. The Campground was totally free of trash and a short walk to the beach. My non electric B14 site bordered the dunes where I could also see the lighthouse. The Beach was quiet and the campground is close to beach vehicle ramp access if you need it. Bathrooms were spotless, trash cans empty. In November its pretty slow at the campground so everybody there had plenty of space. I could see this being a more challenging place in the summer with no shade, near hwy 12 noise/traffic and lots of sites close together. Thanks to the hosts and rangers who are working in extremely difficult circumstances to give us wonderful recreation areas like this. Your work is appreciated! I would love to return here in the off season really memorable experience.

Not much privacy or shade but had clean bathrooms, warm showers, and charcoal grills. Beach is just a short walk over the dunes.

This is a great place to spend a few days right by the beaches of The Outer Banks. Everything was perfect when we camped there. Washrooms were clean, showers worked well. There is no shaded area so be prepared if you only have tents. Lots of mosquitos and other insects that can be an issue if you don't have the proper insect repellent. Will be back again next year.

Great experience. Campground was quiet and people were friendly. Just a short walk over the sand dunes to the beach.Bathhouse was great and showers were especially nice. Will return.

Ive been fishing the outer banks for nearly 3 decades and thought it was time to show my family what it was like; the wind and sand did not disappoint. As long as you are good with those elements, youll enjoy yourself. Great location and hot showers. Not quite a 5 star review as the restrooms and showers were not tended to for several days. I brought my own TP, so it worked out okay. No swings or slides for the kids, but there is a HUGE sandbox. Plan for the elements; especially the wind. Our site backed up to the dunes and I had a slight issue with the location of the grill since I have a passenger side 270 awning and room attachment. It looks like most of them are at the same location (about 6 to the right of the rear bumper). Since we had two vehicles, pulling forward to set up was not an option. It worked out though. Thats part of the fun of campingworking through the unknown and planning better for the next trip.

Stayed one Friday night at the end of December and about half of the sites were occupied. Bathrooms were clean. Very quiet location and Verizon cell signal was decent.

Good location, clean and well kept. The roads and sites are a little tight when the campground is full, but manageable. Bathrooms were clean. Showers are covered but open to the outside. Shower water was heated but there are no lights in the showers.

Rodney was an amazing camp host! Really enjoyed our stay..so much, we extended it an extra two days. The beaches surrounding the campsites are beautiful. Lotsa cool sea life & shells. Will definitely return. :)

Stayed in 3 different spots with 30 foot fifth wheel RV. Site B43 had a lot of the sand spurs. Only stayed here 1 night. Stayed in C41 - very nice spot - enjoyed the grass around the spot. Lastly stayed in a no hookup spot, B14. This was on the outer edge. Over the dunes to the beach. Not a bad spot either. Good Verizon signal, plenty strong enough to work from. Would definitely come back again.best place for dinner Salt Box Cafe - out of the way behind Wright Memorial but delicious food. We got take out and ate in the car.

This campsite was wonderful. Check in was easy and very accommodating. We stayed one night. Loved the beach access from the campsite and the bathrooms were very clean and close by. We will definitely stay here again!

Love this spot. Sites near the dunes without power/water are worth it if you can run on solar for a few days. Windy! Plan on it.
