Oregon Inlet Campground have added more electric/water sites to their existing campground. Great job. Staff is very helpful. Great new Oregon Inlet Marine with gas pumps and air pumps. Also a great Caf.

Really nice campground with the Atlantic on one side and Pamlico Sound on the other with a great dark sky. Its location midway along the Outer Banks gives you a lot of options for things to do, from visiting historical sites to fishing or enjoying the small towns. The facilities were all in good shape with helpful and friendly hosts. One thing that did surprise me was the noise from highway 12 which is very close to the campground. I guess the surroundings were so quite that what traffic did come through seemed so noticeable. One downside to this trip was that the RV dump was not available because of work being done at the marina across the road. That should just be a temporary issue, but you may want to check before you arrive in case you want to dump before you get there. The Sara Owens Welcome Center in Manteo has a free RV dump available. Very nice!

There was such a nice sea breeze, that we didn't even turn on the air conditioner in the camper. We slept with the windows open. What a great sleep!

Lovely campground as close to the beach as you can hope. Each site has a curb at the back that prevents you from parking your unit farther back from the campground road. Almost all sites could have this curb moved back by at least 6 feet which would greatly reduce the congestion on the campground road. No doubt trailers and rv's have gotten larger since the campground was built; this simple modification would go a long way to updating the campground. As is noted when you make your reservation, there are no trees; thus no visual privacy between sites. On top of this, sites are tightly spaced in most areas of the campground. Comfort stations were great and the showers had hot water. Showers need to have lights installed. The beach is fabulous and makes all of the other faults worth suffering through.

A good-sized campground, appreciated the availability of electric and water service. Very clean, nice restrooms, and warm showers supposedly available (didn't use them, though). Good beach access. Plenty of interesting folks and stories, and lots of unusual vehicles to admire. Other campers were quiet and respectful. Looking forward to going again.

We loved the wide-open space of the dunes by the campground. Walking across them to see the sun rise was amazing!

Small well kept campground. Bathrooms are clean and newly refurbished. Short walk down the path over the dunes to the beach. Or you can drive on the beach with a permit right next to the campground. Quiet and peaceful. Go every year.

The campsite was fine. We were unable to use our pop up camper because of high winds. When you make reservations several months in advance, it's difficult to predict a freak storm. This, of course, was not the fault of the National Park Service. We had reservations for four nights, but only used two. We did receive a refund for the early departure. The volunteers in the office were outstanding. A fine gentleman spent a fair amount of time ensuring that we received a refund. We will return, but will do a better job of looking at the long term weather forecast.

Campground is great, I really enjoyed my time there, however, the website is difficult to navigate and it doesnt list amenities per camp spot the way it should, in my opinion. I reserved a spot that was available for two nights listed as tent or RV and when I showed up there was no electric. I had to walk the premises to find the sites that had electric available and find one that was available instead. I never got a refund for the first spot I booked which I didnt use, so in effect I paid more than double for my two days. If you are on a budget, be very careful with the website and double check EVERYTHING!

Very nice campground near the beach. Given my senior federal discount and that this is the only NPS campground on the Outer Banks with hookups, this will be my go-to campground for future trips to OBX. Facilities were clean, staff was friendly and helpful. The bath houses are "open air," sort of. Above the doors and walls are open rafters and eaves, and the door doesn't extend to the ground. This allows plenty of the ocean breeze, probably a good thing in the summer heat but could be quite chilly off-season. No fire ring in campsites, only a park-style charcoal grill. Cooking on this is a bit problematic during a stiff breeze, which is common here. No natural shade, but we had two fold-up canopies. The sites aren't the largest, and they and the campground road are narrow. This results in tight maneuvering space. During our visit a newly arriving 5th wheel two sites over needed a neighbor across the road to move his tow vehicle temporarily to give the 5er room to back in.

We love the Oregon Inlet Campground. The sites are generous and having sites with electric and water was wonderful, as so many federal campgrounds do not. Thank you. I so wish the septic station was not on the opposite side of the road. It is dangerous to cross the busy with road pulling your trailer or a brown water dump dolly. Perhaps simply adding a brown water dolly location next to a bath house could make it safer and more convenient. The paths to the beach are well marked and make it easy to visit the beach on foot, but having a beach access next to the campground made that a great option also.

Campground is tight to get the trailer into the site. That said the sites are level and clean and a short walk to the beach. Also an orv ramp is right by the campground. You are near nags head which is also nice. Showers are clean. No shade but we expected that. We enjoyed our time there.

Nice location, short walk to the beach. Site are pretty close together and no fire pits. Outdoor showers with hot water. I would stay here again.
