The location was excellent. As we arrived late and the winds were very strong we did not get to visit much of the campgrounds.

One of our favorite places to stay! So close to the ocean, nice large sites. The hosts are always very helpful. And the showers have warm water! We've made this an annual destination.

A lot of night light pollution from the lights from the construction underway across the street was disappointing. Seemed to have more sand spurs this year than last and a couple of loud generators detracted from the sound of the ocean. Otherwise, perfect as usual.

Always a great experience over the last 25 yrs camping here! The upgrades to the facility, over the decades, are fantastic! The non-handi shower in C loop has hot water in June-September over the last last 2 years but hopefully they will get it back to previous years when it was cool and refreshing. Warm water is not what you want when showering when it is 100 degrees and you have some sunburn.

Beautiful location. Only concern was with an RV next to us. The woman left early in the a.m., leaving two dogs in the RV that barked CONSTANTLY when she was gone. I mentioned it to a ranger, who listened to the dogs, but did not discuss it with the owner (who did not return until lat evening each day.)

Despite a pretty full campground, NPS felt like a single bathhouse being open would suffice. This was a particular issue when the bathroom got closed for 40 min in the morning.

Good campground while I was photographing migratory birds. Helpful staff. Though I knew it ahead of time, I wish there were hot water showers, NOT cold water showers in FEBRUARY!

I camped there 3 nights while photographing birds at Pea Island NWR. I'm 80 years old, so the senior discount plus the National Parks card I've had for years cost me only $14 a night. My only regret is that there's no hot water shower.

Too many large campers crowded into a smaller space

Very disappointed in reservation system. We only needed one night with power but system showed all such sites were reserved. We even asked at the front gate for a site with power for one night, in case someone had cancelled. The young man assured us there were no sites available. Later, as we walked around the campground we found 4 sites, with electric, that were empty. The dates on the reserved signs indicated these reservations were for the next day! No one ever occupied these sites the night we were there. It was extremely hot that night and we could have occupied one of those sites without it being a problem. Please fix your reservation system for those only needing one night!

Beautiful, well kept campgrounds. Easy check in and check out. Campsites were clean, spacious, and had nice big picnic tables and grills. Close proximity to the beach. We had the best time. Bathrooms and showers close to most of the campsites. water fountain for humans and dogs by the rest room. We would definitely come back here. Only complaint was the bugs but they do tell you to use netting and bug spray on their website.

Had a great stay! No electricity or water hookups, but didn't need it. Utilize the marina across the street for water fill up & dump station. Site provided easy access to beach, but best part was that you can drive your 4 x 4 out on the beach easily.
