Excellent campground! We only stayed one night en route to Ocracoke. It was super stormy, so we were glad to have booked a spot before the causeway (which was closed due to a truck getting blown over). We were well protected behind the large dunes but had easy access to watch the storm on the beach!

The Oregon Inlet Campground was a great experience. The bathhouses were extremely clean and the shower water was the perfect temperature....just a little less than lukewarm....perfect for a hot summer day. The other campers were vert nice and helpful. Those with generators were very respectful of the quiet hours.

Stayed at site B22 6/13-6/21. Weather was great the whole week with temperatures that were cool in the evening with 10 MPH breeze. Drove South to visit Ocracoke Island and took the Ferry. Note: the Ferry is about 90 minutes each way.

We tent camped Oregon Inlet campground from June 3 - June 11 and had a great time! I had reserved site B20, which was beach side so that we had easy access to the beach and close to the bathrooms. The bathrooms and showers were kept clean as well as the campgrounds and the host were all friendly and helpful and the showers were always warm! This was our first trip to the Outer Banks, took my boat and fished every day despite some strong winds with a big fish fry Thursday evening with fresh sheepshead, which was in abundance at the Bonner bridge.Th showers do not have lights, so we took a flashlight with us since we fished late and it was usually dark when showering which worked fine. Take a bungee cord with you to the shower and thank me later.Awesome trip and cant wait to do it again!

Great campground. Beautiful walk through the dunes to the beach. Outdoor showers were amazing! The campground has a nice central location in OBX. You can easily do a day trip north and a day trip south. Loved seeing Bodie Island Light from the campground.

Well maintained. Volunteer staff was more than helpful - very professional even though they are not paid. Experience was very good. I was here in the winter, so, not much was going on, but I left with positive memories.

Volunteer NPS representative was a pro - very helpful, very cordial, and very knowledgeable. No complaints or concerns. All good.

Great campground with easy beach access. Restrooms and showers clean and maintained well. Pretty windy here, so make sure you anchor any canopies well. The rangers and the volunteer hosts all do a great job.

Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy our stay here at all. It was a bit noisy. It was noisy. People playing loud music and talking all the way til midnight. The mosquitoes are huge and even the flies bite! The campground is not close to the beach. You have to walk thru like a quick sand which makes the walking to the beach a lot like a workout rather than just walking. You need a pair of sled basically so you don't sink while walking. We've seen some people drove if you have that kind of vehicle, which now we understood why people drove instead of walking. So nah, we won't be coming back to this campground again.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this campground was open over the winter this season. When I stayed at Oregon Inlet at the beginning of December 2019, there were not many campers, but it was the perfect spot to camp for the night on a trip to explore the Outer Banks of North Carolina. There are several lighthouses a short drive away as well as Fort Raleigh, Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge, Jockeys Ridge State Park, and the Wright Brothers National Memorial. I would definitely choose Oregon Inlet for future camping when Im in the area.
