Had a great time. Went to the graveyard of the Atlantic museum. Very interesting look into history of the outer banks. Love how close the beach is from camp grounds and like the sand dunes.

Trek to the beach is a little bit of a hike. If possible, take vehicle to drive to the beach. Make sure to lower air pressure to recommended psi. Enjoyed our stay there.

Nice campground , with access to the beach. Water and electric was a plus as were flush toilets and hot showers. We were also close to stores, gas stations and restaurants. The only drawback wa the lack of a decent laundromat in any of the surrounding towns. We would certainly visit again, especially in mid spring.

I was a little bit upset. We came after 3Pm the water wasnt turned on. The advertisement stated hot showers AND NO HOT SHOWERS OR WATER IN THE WINTER! Other than that its a beautiful location, i defnetlely wanna go there in the summer.

Quiet location with access to the beach over the dunes. Near to all the shops and restaurants but feels a world away. Caution, burrs abound and get in the dog's paws if you walk them off the pavement

The campground was great and surprisingly roomy sights. We had great weather and it was a great location. Would suggest campground create a walkway over dunes to beach. The walk over to beach was hard and not for anyone who was not able to walk well. Also suggest better parking at sites so roads were not so close. But we will defiantly return. It is a good space.

Very nice park, very convent to the OBX and Roanoke IslandOur only complaint is the sand burs! Could not let the kids play in the grass. Very disappointing.

This was our first time camping here, and let me tell youWe had a fantastic time! The sites were nice and roomy, restrooms were super clean, showers were also clean (a bit chilly in the evening) but didnt bother us. The walk to the beach is through the dunes (its actually a doable little hike) or cut through the C loop area and walk up the road. We really enjoyed watching the sun rise and set, and the stars oooh so pretty! Cant wait to come back!! (Yes I already booked our next trip)

It was very well maintained. The roads are a little narrow but manageable. The sites are spaced out well and you are not on top of your neighbor. Showers were closed for the season so tank conservation was a must as the dump station is off premises. Overall a good campground and will be returning in the spring.

My second year at Oregon Inlet Campground, so far my experience has been great! I love the location being somewhat in the middle of the Outer Banks. I do basic tent camping here in mid-October basically to just fish morning, noon, and night. Be forewarned, If you do tent camping here (or any beach area) make sure your tent can withstand high winds or it will fail. For beach/sand/windy areas, I use a low profile tent and 17" spiral dog spikes to tether the tent and canopy, although I did take down the canopy for the 30+ mph winds one nightCheck in/out is hands free thanks to pre-registration. The beach is just a few minutes walk from the Campground and the Nags Head shops and piers are about 10-15 minutes by car.Basic charcoal grills Spectacular surroundings with beautiful sunrises/sunsets (ha, when not blocked by clouds). Great campground, the host and hostess are the best, super friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The showers and bathrooms were very clean! Showers have decent hot waterMy campsite had water/electric and was on a nice level grassy area near the bathhouse. The Cons:Lots of strong wind a couple days, but that warning is on the campground website and is common for beach areas.Sand spurs are these evil spiky balls that are all over the ground, so have some type of foot covering for you and your pets. The sites are somewhat close together and if your site is adjacent to the bathroom/showers expect a lot of foot traffic, (I didn't mind as the conversations with the passersby were great.)As with being on/near any beach you have to be prepared for prepared for drastic weather changes (and those evil sand spurs?). No hot water in bathroom SuggestionsLighting in the showers for night time use, a changing area to keep everything from getting soaked while showering. Also, it would be nice to have a bench outside for waiting and/or putting on shoesFull length doors on Showers to help keep the cold air out

Water and Electric Sites. Level site near the dunes. April is a great time to visit the outer banks. Central location for seeing all the sights.

I recommend not staying near the group spaces. Larger groups seem to be noisier as was our experience when three car loads of campers pulled in with several young boys. The peace and quiet went away at that point.

Great location, nice facilities, and a beach almost to ourselves - would definitely recommend staying here when visiting the OBX. 50A power and water hook-up on some sites, no problem fitting our 36 ft fifth wheel.

The volunteer Ranger was very good and helpful. The sites were clean and easy to work with. Only one restroom was opened. It would be nice if you could add hot water and open the showers. The most frustrating thing was using the Rec.gov site for making reservations. As a long-time regular camper in state parks around the country, I do not understand why the National Parks system decided it best to try to build a better mouse trap than ReserveAmerica, which most of the state parks use. The rec.gov site was awful!
