The campground was okay, but the bathroom was clogged and my camping spot was covered in sandspurs.

Oregon inlet campground was kind of a spontaneous decision to camp there instead of going further south where I usually go, but I decided to stay closer to my part of the beach and was really satisfied and impressed how nice the campground host were in the neighbors and the location and the beach was amazing. Of course It's a really good place to come down and get away from the usual beaches I go to and hang out at out. I would like to specifically mention Ted and his wife. The campground host were amazing and very nice and sweet people. They seem to have their job down to a t because of how helpful and knowledgeable they are and just kind of fun to be around. Very happy I met them And I look forward to going back there again soon.

We had a wonderful time. Beach is beautiful. Take their warnings about mosquitoes seriously. They were awful in the afternoon and at night.

We chose lot 12A because it was close to the other lots that friends of ours had chosen. It had a perfectly level and large space for setting up our 10-person tent. It was also located conveniently close to a direct path to the bathrooms. The showers are enclosed outside and do not have a built in light if you want to shower after sundown. You need to bring a lantern or flashlight to shower at night. The beach is a short walk away, but not the easiest path if you're trying to drag something along like a cooler. The only issue I had with this campground is that there are these horribly prickly burrs that are all over the campground. If you step on one, it sticks into your skin a lot like a splinter. We had to make sure that our young kids kept shoes on at all times. As far as activities go, Jeannette's Pier is a decent place to go fishing. Bodie Lighthouse is also a close drive away. There are several fun activities in the area if you're willing to drive.

10 Days at the campground, tent, mid October, side A. Overall the camping experience was good, fishing was great, weather perfect (one night of severe storms). You are a the beach with sandy soil, so bring longer tent stakes or 17" Dog Tie Out Stakes (what I used) and tether two on each corner. Positives: Rangers are extremely friendly and accommodatingLocation convenient to go either to up to Nags head, Kill Devil Hills, kitty Hawk, etc. or down to Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, etc.Seniors Access Passes qualify for a 50% discount on campsite fees.Warm water for showersreasonable walk to beach (5-10 minutes)Close to the Marina Negatives (but hey it's camping ;-) )Mosquitos/bugs - netting and insect repellent are recommended. The shower stalls are unheated and basically outdoor stalls, no lights, nowhere to place items without them getting wet (I used a 5 gal bucket with lid to carry stuff and keep items dry)Sites are not very spacious, no real privacyThe sand spurs are extremely prevalent and VERY painful, wear closed toe sandals HINT: Take a rake to help clear your area of the sand spurs, check for buried stakes!

Everything was great. Showers were warm and bathroom clean. Just keep your shoes on those thorns you step on really hurt.

The sites were clean, the staff was super helpful and so nice, and the location was absolutely perfect. I would camp there again in a heartbeat!
