The campground is crowded in summer but we went in December and it was nice. Plenty of open space. We do wish there was a TV cable connection but otherwise this is a great location, close to everything.

Most of the sites were good for usable. On the C loop where the Sharpe turn is a large hole in the road. Sites in front of bath house are about usable all the time because they are a lake. They need to be shet down and taken off web site.

The best thing about this campsite is its location at the end of the island, making it peaceful and quiet. It offers easy access to the beach, with the beach access road right next to the campground. If you enjoy biking, youre just a short ride from Nags Head or can cross the bridge to Manteo. Heading the other way takes you over the bridge to Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, a beautiful area to explore.

We were fortunate enough to get an electric site. Also would recommend the short drive to get to the beach. Left from campground and next left to parking with short walk to a beautiful beach. Was so happy for the free warm showers.

This was our 4th trip to Oregon inlet. We were there on a holiday weekend and the campground was full. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. When full it can be a little tricky getting in to some sites. The only issue we had was there is only one dump connection and had to wait about 30 min.

It is a long walk to beach but it is worth the walk. Clean restrooms! People are friendly and there is a lot of things to see and do!

We camp here often and are always happy with the campground. It is nice and quiet at night, too.

We stayed for one night at the end of December. The weather was very nice for the time of year. Check in was fast and easy and the site was level. We are looking forward to coming back in June!

We especially enjoy the proximity of this campground to the ramp where we can drive out onto the beach. The fact that we now have electricity is great since we do use CPaps for sleeping.

Last year we bought an RVwe wanted to camp and see the USA. Finally, after a few family obligations, we were able to begin our Adventure! We were not disappointed. This is a beautiful campground in the middle of beautiful OBX. We loved the laidback atmosphere and quiet. Our Lab loved it too. Well be back, Im sure!Things to consider: It is adjacent to a beach access for 4x4sNo sewer hook up but ds is excellent Look out for sand spursvery common in NC

Beautiful setting, large lots and clean restrooms. Staff was friendly and helpful. Within sight of Bodie Lighthouse which is a nice touch. Very close to OBX attractions as well.

This ocean-front campground is in a great location on Hatteras Island. It is close to Nag's Head (shops, restaurants, Jockey's Ridge State Park, Wright Brothers Memorial/Museum, mini-golf, race cars, etc. and Manteo (North Carolina Aquarium, shops, restaurants, The Lost Colony drama/theater) and Bodie Island Lighthouse to the north. To the south, there is Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, Pea Island Wildlife Refuge, the ferry to Ocracoke Island, etc. Lots to do and beautiful undeveloped beaches!Bathrooms were clean, showers warm and the campground was quiet.

Campground is right in between Maneo and Nags Head. strategically located. Watch out for Sandburg in the fall they will get in you and your dogs feet. Little noisy next to the hwy.

Very friendly and helpful host. It's really good to have power and water at our site. And the warm water showers are the bomb. Love walking the dunes to the beach.

Windy as always but if you like the beach it is where its at. Boating center across main road offers charter fishing, head boat fishing and dolphin watching for a charge. Dump station off site a small inconvenience for longer stays. Rangers friendly and helpful. Showers are chain pull dump showers, private but not entirely in closed from wind or temperatures. Beach is driving permitted with a paid permit. Trucks will be on beach but most are careful and respectful of others on beach.

This has gone from our least favorite park campground to our favorite, with the addition of power and warm water showers. Make sure you bring your own shade, as there is absolutely none. There is also no real protection from the wind, which blows almost constantly, so plan to secure your stuff accordingly. (It's a sport to go hunting for mangled EZ Ups at the dumpster, as somebody loses one every trip.) Have a bug mitigation plan for dusk as well. They are relentless after dark. If you venture down the paths to the beach, they are relentless all the time. Staff was as pleasant as possible, given the current circumstances (COVID,) and checkin was painless. Pull up, give them your name (from a distance,) and they bring you your mirror tag. Bathrooms and showers were clean.
