Huge portion of campground was knee deep in water from rain storm the night before. Several RV sites totally under water and tent pads under water to the extent you couldn't get to some bathrooms without wadding and gettingto heach meant walking around the long way. Bathroom lights not working and were dirty. Didn't try the showers due to they're basically outside and exposed and it was cold and very wet. Dump site across street and thankfully had another camper tell me how to find it because no rangers around to help and signs non existent with construction.all around it.

I loved that Oregon Inlet is located centrally on the Outer Banks which makes for convenient exploration of the islands.

we stayed for 7 days. it was fun and other people friendly. the beach is a walk down an off road vehicle access. takes about 10 mins. The camp area was clean and dry. the drive way just fit my rig 52' total had to put trailer tires as close to end of payment and bump stop, but it fit. site C16 make sure you have a camp mat. the grass has eroded away. 9x12 camp mat covered perfectly. make sure you have a tote for dumping if you are going that route. the dump station is across the road at the marina. we are already looking forward to book this site agian.

This campground is our go to on the outer banks. We normally visit 8n November after crowds this year we went before the crowds. This is an excellent campground. You can be on the beach in just about five minutes from anywhere in the campground. The bathhouses are very well maintained. The sights are fairly level. Some are short so be sure and check length. The loops are a little tight so go very slow entering and exiting. Very short drive to just about anything you could want to do on the outer banks.

A great place to camp. parking is tight as you are not supposed to park on the grass and the sites a short and narrow. We only have a 21' camper and we haul it with a Toyota Tundra. It is quiet and peaceful--though we were almost always on the go so we didn't hang out there. Also, for some reason the bathrooms in section C were closed. Though we have a full bathroom we try to use the facilities on site so as not to fill our tanks. If it had not been so cold it would not have been so bad to go to the other bathrooms but, we had to drive (ok, I did not my husband) and there was no parking unless you went up to the front.Pump is down the road--which is still better than no pumps but had we not explored the second day we were there we might not have found it so easily. The pump is on the other side of the road at the marina. There is construction there so stay to the left of the fencing and then go to the back.

We went to relax, and we did. Having power in loop C is nice, it helped us to stay cool. The solar heated showers were nice, I hadn't been expecting that amenity. We got lucky with the weather during our stay, the wind was enough to keep the bugs down but not enough to be a detriment. We've stayed here dozens of times over the years. We go in knowing what to expect, and we've never been disappointed.

I had not camped here since I was a teenager. So many family memories came back to me. Then, there was no electricity, water at sites or warm showers! But at 59 years old now, those additions will keep bringing us back. Next reservation is in July!

Clean and well-maintained campground. Convenient location, good spacing between campsites (we were in a 28' Airstream trailer for the 8 night stay). Second weeklong trip in a year, we will be back!

The campsites are level and paved, but, while not close together, seem crowded. The sites are small, so vehicles are parked almost in the narrow camp road. There needs to be a strictly enforced dog rule. Lot's of barking dogs and at least two dog fights. I am not anti-dog, but owners should be required to keep their dogs under control and leaving a dog in a camper unattended should be mandatory expulsion. In spite of this, we will definitely return. We had a great time visiting the Outer Banks and the problems were not show stoppers for us.

We found the campground to be quiet and peaceful. The bath houses were clean, showers warm, and the campground was well maintained. The beach was further than we thought but found the 10 day pass to drive on the beach worth the $50.

We enjoyed our stay at the campground very much! We stayed for almost a week and utilized the off roading ramp right next door to drive our Jeep on the beach. Enjoyed hiking at jockeys ridge state park and enjoyed pizza from Nags Head Pizza company. Very nice asphalt sites.

The rules regarding operation of generators needs to be changed. They were allowed to operate between 6 am and 10 pm. This is way too long, especially if you are right beside one . Reasonable operating hours would be 8 am to 8 pm. I would not recommend this campground because of the noise level in the evening, coupled with the road noise.

I love to give this campground a higher rating but first here are the facts. These campsites compared to commercial campgrounds are pretty large almost double what you normally find. They are grassy with an asphalt strip down the middle and level so it's easy to set up your camper. The site we had had water and 30/50 amp service although the breaker on a 30 amp service was weak and we had to convert to the 50 amp plug. Also there are no trees here so you're in the middle of a field directly in the sun although that's not surprising for a campground on the outer Banks. One of the larger drawbacks is that you cannot have a fire in the campground or on the beach. The showers and there are only two and bathrooms are clean and well-maintained but don't believe the heated water advertisement not true for the showers. Also there are only two showers per loop so you have to time it or you're going to be waiting and extended. With all the tent campers here. The beach is also relatively close and about a 5 to 10 minute walk. It's also relatively empty especially early in the morning so you're not overcrowded.
