We stayed for 2 nights and the first night was good aside from the rain and wind. But what can you do? The 2nd night was beautiful with neither wind nor rain but then the sun set. Holy moly were the mosquitoes crazy. Lucky for us we had a newer camper and sealed space but in the morning we found that 2 of our camping neighbors left to go to the Oregon Inlet fishing center to sleep in their cars. One couple even thought that they had parked over a nest or something. So just be aware that you need bug spray, repellent and a nice sealed off sleeping area. Other than that, which is obviously out of anyones control, the campground was wonderful. Clean bathrooms, scenic and considerate and friendly neighbors.

So quiet and peaceful. Short walk over the dunes to ocean. Perfectly clean and mowed grounds. Can't think of any sugestions for improvement. First rate!

The site was level. I didn't have hookups but they do have some. You are right in the dunes and a short walk over to the water. The sunsets are beautiful too. I enjoyed my stay and will stay again if in the area.

I stayed in the non electric sights. It was a beautiful place, the dunes were amazing and the sunset beautiful. It's not really close to anything but then that's the point. I was surprised at the traffic noise but it wasn't disruptive. I enjoyed my time there and took in the sights north and south of there. I would stay here again if I'm in the area.

Nice campground. Trails through the dunes to the beach. Near lots of great restaurants and the Wright Brothers memorial. Warm showers! No shade anywhere though.

Everything was perfect for our stay. It's quite close to Bodie lighthouse and about 12miles from Nags head. Bathroom and toilet were clean. This was a couple of days after a hurricane and there was no water logging on any of the campsites.

Great campsites. Very quiet area within walking distance of the beach. Hardly anyone on the beach when we went in November. Nice bathrooms, but the showers are outside, so if it's cold you may have to take a very quick shower. Nice grass areas in between camp sites, but make sure you always wear shoes, as the goats head stickers are everywhere, and they really hurt if you get one in your foot!

People here were all great. Everyone respected the quiet hours. Sites were well marked and big enough for what we needed. Facilities are super clean and the camp site is well organized. Only wish there was some sort of actual hard path to the beach over the dunes.

There are lots of spiky bushes near the camping area. The dry spiky seed of the bushes were spread all across the camping area, they were painful.

I enjoyed the campground for three nights. The campground is very clean, and the rangers are very polite and helpful. My neighbors campers were great neighbors and everybody was respectful of others. The only think to comment is that I think the sign indicating my camping spot was misplaced. Campers are supposed to park backing up and set the tent on the passenger side of the car. But the sign indicating my spot was on the driver side of my parking spot, and that's where I set up my tent. Right when I finished setting up my tent, the park ranger told me that I had to set it up on the passenger side of my car and not where the sign was, so I had to re set the tent. Not too bad, but I think the signs could be placed better.

I've stayed here twice now, and I highly recommend it. One of my favorite campgrounds in the world. The facilities are exceptionally clean and the staff is delightful and truly cares about their campers and the local area - they have great recommendations and are always willing to help. The best part about this campground is it's location; 7 minutes from town when you need supplies, and right along some of the most beautiful bluffs and beachfront. When I went in June (pre-COVID), it was easy to find a spot on the beach and feel totally alone, and it's only a brief 2-3 minute walk from your campsite to the water. I recently went in November and my experience was the same, and this place will always be a welcome respite from the world. Easily one of the best campgrounds I've stayed at, and I've traveled extensively across the country in my van.
