Beware of briars in the grass, the prickers hurt and stick to everything. Great scenery and nice location otherwise. Great beach access and close to bathrooms.

I love this campground and WILL be returning! The only thing i wish they would improve are the bath houses. It sucks to have to hold down the lever for the water to come out, but other than that everythign was nothing short of AMAZING.

The tent-only side of the campground only had a handful of campers given the weather and off-season and it was nice, lots of privacy. I will say the wind was crazy while we were there so make sure you pack and camp accordingly! When the wind died out in the afternoon/evening we had a nice little beach fire. Bathrooms were clean and heated. We love coming to OBX in the off-season and having the cold beaches practically to ourselves. Fun for walking and flying kites but make sure to dress warmly! The wind chill is pretty intense.

Good campsites, most tent sites are sandy so bring extra long stakes. Large and dunes between beach and campsites give a little wind break but can be exhausting and Hot and in summer to walk thru to get to beach. Bathrooms are a bit of a walk from some sites, dune fencing block some paths people made over dunes causing erosion, so not easy straight navigation in the dark. Don't like vehicles driving on the beach make ruts that are hard to walk thru, crush shells and beach finds, more people bringing more stuff and trash, fishing lines blocking walking/wading, and radios and noise onto the beach, and dogs running loose, barking and pooping on beach . One year I set up my chair, umbrella and bag, went walking at the waters edge and when I returned noisy sprawling vehicle setups were crowded on top of me on both sides when there was plenty of open areas and I had to move.

I had a wonderful time at the Oregon Inlet campground. The location was close to the beach and nearby Nags Head. Overall a perfect time and a place to return to.

We actually arrived at the campground a day prior to our reservation! WHOOPS! The on site staff, and the phone reservation person helped us get a great campsite for the first night, then all we had to do was cross the path to our correct campsite for the rest of our stay. The campsite was clean, quiet, had VERY clean bathrooms and the shower...the shower was the perfect temperature for the end of a warm day! Plenty of beaches to explore, history to experience, fresh fish to eat. October is the perfect time to be on OBX, as the night time breeze was delightful, bugs were not an issue, no rain. Oregon Inlet is the kind of campground that gets first time campers to be camp-out-aholics! Thank you NPS! Well done!

Great facilities in A-loop, and friendly staff. Don't underestimate the wind and the sand; they're manageable if you're prepared.

We had a fantastic time here. As beginner campers, all we had was our tent, air mattress, and sleeping bags, and the amenities and location made it easy to still have the full camping experience. The staff was so kind and welcoming, and the wind wasn't too bad. The dunes are gorgeous and we appreciated the arrows and paths to the beach. We packed in ready to eat food and snacks and spent most of our time on the beach. I would definitely recommend tent only campers to be in loop A (a tent only loop) to get away from the RVs. If you layer up I would recommend coming in mid April; the bugs aren't out yet and if you're lucky, the wind won't stop you from laying out on the beach. The Bodie Lighthouse is 4 minutes away and is a fun/short activity. The more populated areas of OBX are very close and you can get both the tourist and camper experience. 100% recommend this campground!!!

Beautiful beach just over the dunes. Nice and quiet in the spring, and a quick drive to restaurants and activities.

Loop A spot 6 very nice and close to beach and bath/ showers. We were there 27,28,29 of September 2020 . The weather was great and the staff wonderful . We enjoyed our stay even being caught in a noreaster the last night we were there . I dont recommend getting caught in one of those but we made it threw intact . Over all it was a very nice place to stay . Im hopeful to return in the spring .
