The campsites were fine; keep in mind that this area can be fairly windy so you may not be able to use your awnings or screened tents, etc. For RVs, this was good, just bring an auxiliary septic/gray water tank if you plan to stay long.

Terrible beach access, we had a 3 and 5 year old a never thought we would have to drag them that far to the beach. Also it is mind boggling that you can drive full size trucks on the beach but ebikes apparently cause too much erosion. There is a million hiking path eroding the dunes but heaven forbid there's one easy path that would alleviate all that damage.

We stayed at Oregon Inlet Campground for spring Red Drum fishing as we celebrated our fifty-sixth wedding anniversary. We caught and released more and larger fish than any previous trip, and we enjoyed sight-seeing and dining at many of the area attractions. The camping was great and we look forward to reserving a space for our next trip to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.Gordon and Jane

Sites were close together, but location was excellent. Enjoyed a ride along the coast to see the dunes. Also, enjoyed the Wright Brother's memorial.

A very nice place to stay for the price to see the Outer Banks! The hosts were GREAT!!!! A constant Ocean breeze, and noise from the HWY during the day, but quiets down nicely till about 6am, which is about the same time the movement starts around the campground, so hard to sleep in if you're not a heavy sleeper. The sites were nicely greened for the most part, although some sandy ones near the dunes.

The morning walks on the beach alone with my dogs was the best part of the trip. As for the camp ground it was clean, organized, plenty of space and well maintained. Just an FYI, my dogs had to put on booties because of the "spurs" that are all over the place. It made walking them difficult. I stayed 5 days and just enjoyed the solitude and perfect winter beach weather. I drove up and down the sea shore and just admired the isolation. When the wind came up, I had flashbacks from "the desert" lol. I am confused by what the reservation sight shows (all booked, not available, etc) and what I actually witnessed in the camp ground. There were numerous sights (both with power and without) available and just vacant, but if you look at rr.gov there isn't anything available. IDK. people making reservations and not even showing up doesn't bother me, they paid for it, but maybe the camp host needs to try updating sights more often. It's hard enough getting reservations, but what I see on the sight and what I experienced on the ground is night and day. Great place, defiantly a unique place to experience

We were delighted to be at a campground with a short walk to the beach. That was our main attraction. We also drove to places north and south of the campground to restaurants and attractions. The campground is basically primitive but has flushing toilets and separate outside showers. Showers are private but open at the top and bottom so they can be quite cool on a cool day.

Campground hosts were so nice. Campground was awesome. Showers were closed because it was December. Water and electric worked well. If you go in December, be aware that the winds can be cold. But it was so beautiful.

We had a water/electric site at Oregon Inlet CG and enjoyed our stay. Campground was clean including the restrooms didn't use the showers. We were originally scheduled in on a site without w/e, which would have been very hot and uncomfortable. Long walk to the beach, but that was ok. Sightseeing was great at the Wright Bros memorial and various lighthouses. OTA tv was OK and verizon was a couple of bars. Most of the sites were fairly short with not much room to park if you have a rig 30ft or longer.

We spent a week at Oregon Inlet in April. The campground offered water/electric with three beach access points. The check-in was super easy! We used this middle Outer Banks location to explore north to Corolla and south to Ocracoke. This was a perfect location for our explorations of the Outer Banks. We recommend Wright Brother's Museum, Jockey's Ridge State Park and all lighthouses.

We truly enjoy visiting the Outer Banks when the opportunity arises. This was only my third stay at Oregon Inlet Campground. First time after the water electric upgrade to some of the sites. With over 20 years of RVing experience, we know what to expect and how to prepare for our stay. This trip was an early spring break in March with some beautiful sunny days, a bit cool, but expected. each morning we walk over the dunes and enjoy our coffee watching the sun rise, the porpoises, and migrating birds, this time millions of birds heading north. I also walk well over 10 miles up and down the beach. It was an excellent break for us.

Be aware that the shower booths are not heated and operate by pulling an overhead rope. Nice bathrooms and campsites and a short walk through the dunes to the beach

We stayed in the off season, early April, the breeze was cool, but we still saw the occasional bug. The beach is a bit of a walk even from the closest loop. No vehicle beach access from in the park. Water was just fine electric service was as it should be. Picnic table was typical. Spaces are not huge, but I wasnt right on top of anyone either. The showers, are meant to be beach hose off, not really closed in showers.
@StephenW521762 · Camped on Nov 20, 2020 at Campsite #B38
Wonderful location. Make sure you have a pressure regulator for the water supply. And the showers could use an upgrade. But it's a gorgeous spot; the beach is right over the dunes.
