Great place to camp. Beach all up and down. Be prepared when walking to beach. Dunes are fairly steep. Want to drive on beach. Get a permit and have at it. Showers were hot and outdoorsy but nice. We were evacuated as Erin washed waves ashore. Camping!

This park is one of the best national park campgrounds, offering direct access to natural resources, friendly staff, and clean accommodations.

Great place! Staff was outstanding and the campground was clean and well kept. We camp in a Class C Motorhome with the electric and water hookups. Had a 5G signal on Verizon network. Will be using this campground for my visits to the Outer Banks.

Great time spent at Oregon Inlet. The washrooms we canpes near were under roof construction most of the week.

We had a great time. Loved the campground. Yes, its not a resort; but not resort prices either. The campsites are large and the staff is friendly. We thought it was great. Very quiet at night with dark skies. We saw several shooting stars. Definitely would stay there again.BTW the showers are warm not cold.

We love this place! Butit seems to be getting a little worse each time that we go. The rangers used to patrol regularly to enforce rules such as noise, parking on the grass, and people running all over your site. Im guessing they are short on rangers so they dont patrol anymore. Hopefully they get the issues resolved.

Oregon Inlet Campground at Cape Hatteras National Seashore is a very nice place to stay. Campsites are nestled in the dunes just a short walk from the beach. Many sites have water and electric, and there is a dump station about a quarter of a mile down the road at the marina. Located convenient to many local attractions, including Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and Bodie Island Lighthouse. Would definitely come back in the future.

Beautiful beach and the campsites were well placed. However the showers were atrocious. No lights and a pull string? Come on. In the past 13 months I have camped at over 30 parks. These were the worst. Surely they can be upgraded.

Theres a nice different feel to this campground. Its rustic, unprotected and easy. 30 foot camperno problem. We slept listening to the waves and constant wind at night (early June and light noreaster). Campers mostly kept outside lights off and the stars were amazing. Camp was home base while we checked out Cape Hatteras, four wheeled and the Lost Colony. Book early!

Nice, clean, good price. No trees for shade, but we were there in April so it didn't really matter.

Wonderful setting. We really liked the central location on the Banks. Close to store and restaurant resources around Nags Head but away from the crowds. 2 miles from Bodie Lighthouse. In my opinion the best of the lighthouses for day and night time photography. Love the shower facilities with hot water. Wonderful setting for sunsets on the adjoining dunes. Dark sky with little light pollution made Milky Way viewing very special.

The campground staff were VERY friendly. Bathrooms were very clean. It's very quiet there and a little windy due to being so close to the ocean. At night the stars were absolutely stunning and you could hear the ocean from over the dunes.

Very nice campground. Good access to the beach. There was road noise. Close to good kayak launch at marina across the street. Good facilities to dump and get water.

personal campground was great and place was wonderfull. The online booking was very difficult as very little service on mobile phone data was to slow then waited over 40 min to deal with a call center who did not seem to know anything about that campground or any others in the area, plus was on a clock or timed dead line to make the reservation with in a certain amount of time. it never was like that before.

My family enjoyed our stay here so much!!! We were in our camper but used the bathhouse and showers, which were very clean. The water was just the right temperature. Every ranger and employee we came into contact with were kind and professional. We were blessed with a great breeze the first couple of days but third and fourth days the bugs came out with a vengeance...so don't forget the bug spray!

Lovely area. We enjoyed a day at Ocracoke Island (the free ferry is an hour from the campground). Also, a walk south down the beach to the ship wrecked on the sand (the Ocean Pursuit) was a nice walk to an interesting destination. At the campground, do pay attention to site lengths because they require you to park vehicles on the pavement only. So with a trailer, you have to park the trailer and the tow vehicle end to end. Also, heed warnings about cold strong winds--they mean it ( we were there in early April). Also, no fires permitted. The doors to the showers are open to the outside at the top and bottom. There was no accessing the bathroom without feeling like you were encroaching on another camper's site. Finally, look out for sand/beach spurs, especially if you have a dog with you---nasty.
