I was here in January, it was wonderful that it was open and had spaces easily available. There is a not a path the bathroom. You have to walk through a camp space to get to it. That is kind of awkward. During my visit only out door showers were available and they were closed. I enjoyed the area, and it was nice being so close to the beach.

Not sure what happened, no hosts , trash blowing around. Rangers were around in the day, most of time in the ranger station. In past hosts were around picking trash helping campers, did not see anything like that this time. Rangers never had a smile it looked like they hated their jobs. Just saying!

We love this park. However at this visit we were very upset at the level of support or caring about the broken dump station. They never updated us on the status even though I gave the ranger my site and phone number. The answer to our issue with a full portable tank was take it 19 miles down the road or put the waste back in our camper! Both remarks were insults to intelligence as neither are possible. Fortunately the station reopened the next day not in the week they put out on a sign. It would have been nice to be told that not find it out when I saw a camper and his tank. Poor management can ruin a campground. Hope they will be better next time.

We're big fans of this campground and the natural beach environment that surrounds it. The Park rangers are kind and helpful and the bathrooms/showers although rustic were kept quite clean. We took advantage of the new tire/air station across the street after a nice drive on the beach. Thanks for a fun stay Oregon Inlet.

The only thing we have to pick on is the lack of a handicap walkway to the beach , walking through the sand is very difficult for people with disabilities and/or older folks

The campground is a 5 minute walk through the dunes to the beach. The campground has three loops: dry camping tent only, and two loops for RV &Trailers. Oddly about a third of the RV/trailer sites do not have water or electric which results in someone running their generator which makes it impossible to enjoy the sounds of the birds and ocean. Generator hours are from 6AM to 10 PM! Stay away from the dry sites if you can. Sites are paved and fairly level. Its a 15 minute drive to stores. There is some road noise but the campground is usually quiet and relaxing.

Great location. Close to the beach. The campground is a little bare bones. Showers with no lights, saloon doors were a little breezy with 59 degree weather. A great place to stay!

Nice grounds, watch out for sand spurs especially if you bring your pet. Close to beach & beach access road if you buy a permit to drive on the beach. We had a great time.

A short walk to the ocean made beach walking a daily activity! The volunteers at the park were extremely friendly and helpful. It provided a great home base to explore from. We were scheduled for 7 days and extended a few more days because we absolutely loved it here! The park is very quiet and family friendly. All of thd campers we spoke with were extremely friendly. Highly recommend!

Keep tents in the tent area. The one next to us had some drunk people that were a bit noisy. The ocean is beautiful but be warned, its a hike to get to. The rangers are fantastic and we will be back.

Nice campground. Great access to the beach. Trash is picked up at your site. Sites are wide and level but backing in is tight if the site in front of yours is occupied. Overall great spot for the money!

The Outer Banks is beautiful. I would give my experience 5 stars, EXCEPT for the Off Road Vehicle use allowed at Cape Hatteras National Seashore. ORV are allowed on 29 miles of the seashore 24/7! The beach is like a ROADWAY; all joy was stripped from my experience the seashore. EVERY NP campground at Cape Hatteras has a vehicle access ramp. We will not be returning.
