Sites are small, very tight to park your tow vehicle. Great location on the dunes, short walk to the beach. Restrooms were cleaned and stocked every day. Outdoor showers actually provided hot water in mid October. Great price, would definitely stay again.

Great campground on the dunes. Easy walk to the beach. Tight site, little privacy but everyone is respectful. Dark sky all the camper kept the loght off. Cold showers were warmed by the sun.

The staff was really nice and this was the only positive here. The beach looks like a parking lot!!! The sand is black (along with our feet) due to all the cars that park right up to the water. Clearly there are signs for pedestrian only beach areas but cars routinely ignore it. The campground itself is crowded, spaces are tiny, huge bus type RVs are loud and constantly drive by inches away from your space- its hard to even let kids/pets play outside without being worried. Instead of being lulled to sleep by nature you can fall asleep to the sweet sound of unrestricted generators and hopefully you like a mild fuel aroma with your coffee in the morning. This is quite truly an anthropological study on the human destruction of what would be a stunningly beautiful spot. Just sad!!

Be prepared for wind! We were boondocking in our teardrop, so were safe and protected, but there really isn't much protection from the wind and folks with tents and other such structures really need to have them adequately anchored. The beach is lovely and Walking miles while watching the fishermen and ever, at times, the dolphins was a very relaxing part of every day.

Sites are way too close together!!! Come on very uncomfortable especially when tenters spread out next to your RV! Have to go across street to water & dump which is inconvenient. Long walk to beach thru deep sand trail. Wont be back!

Visit Fort Raleigh and visit the USFWS Visitor Center and properties for hiking and wildlife viewing. Get away from the strip and visit the other areas.

Great campground, with easy access to the beach. Bathrooms were nice and semi-outside showers were available, although we used our own in the RV. People working there were very nice and helpful. There are some sites available with electric and water, although we did not get one of those, since we are used to doing some off-grid camping. There is potable water at the campground and a dump station at the fishing pier across the road. Since the campground is right on the ocean, come prepared for wind though!

We enjoyed several days at Oregon Inlet Campground. Fresh water source to fill your tank is available at the dump station across the road at the marina. The showers are at a set temperature and are operated by a pull chain. As long as several campers haven't used them in succession, they are warm. We look forward to returning soon.
