Beautiful campground in a great location. Sites are sufficiently spaced, and the beach was the best we visited in the outer banks. Oregon Fishing Center is right across the street, with well-stocked shop, nice restaurant, fishing supplies and lots of fishing charters, dolphin cruises, etc.

Or third time here and once again everything was perfect. Campground was clean, guests were polite and this time even the weather was absolutely beautiful.

This will be in my top ten places for the rest of my life! A small secluded campsite set right in the dunes and within earshot of the ocean. We planned on staying one night and ended up for three. If it had been warmer we would have stayed even longer. The Rangers and park staff were so friendly and helpful it was great! We will definitely be back.

It was a great place to relax. The rangers/guides/workers were very helpful and personable. I was told it was a good time to visit (December) because in the summer it gets crazy. The place was clean. The showers are very primitive (you pull a chain and warm water dumps down on you, no pressure/temperature controls), but it did the trick. It would be better if there were things like seats and/or a shelf or hooks to put your gear.

A bit cold but nice days and friendly hosts

Nice clean campground. Clean restrooms. "Outdoor" showers were quite chilly in December. Easy access to the beach. Air compressor across the highway at marina made it easy to fill tires back up. If it rains, pack away outdoor items, lots of standing water. Would certainly stay again.

Christmas lights at Elizabethen Gardens were great in spite of covid. Obviously you should be prepared for sand and wind. Power was great and water pressure was good also.

I chose a camp site near the access to the road that goes over to the beach. (C23) it was quite rustic and covered in sand spurs. I realize that they are a normal thing for the outer banks, but if I had known I would have chosen a site inside the camping area as these appeared to be well trimmed and almost none of the sand spurs. My dog would have liked it much better too.

Friendly and super helpful staff! Called a few days out from Columbus Day weekend, Denise was a huge help. The Recreation.gov site is made by the lowest bidder. She was able to help me reserve a site. Bathrooms clean, grass neatly trimmed and we were able to get a electrical hook up site. They have 30 & 50 amp power. Website says only 30. Take bug spray if you walk thru the dune trails to beach. Mosquitoes!!!!

Love this NAtional Park campground! Beautiful beaches and great location to explore the outer banks. Quiet and 12 miles from most provisions, but Close to Oregon Fishing center where you can buy snacks (try the eastern NC BBQ sandwich), plan fishing and sight seeing charters and see the fishing boats come in most days around 3pm with their catch. We stayed a week and had to move sites most days (due to last minute planning) and it was worth the extra effort. Thanks to the park rangers for coordinating and checking in. Close enough to explore south along the National seashore To Hatteras Village and Ocracoke. Highly Recommended.
