This campground was great. From here we got to see the Outer Banks from one point to the other. Nags Head, Duck, Wright Brothers Memorial, Hatteras Lighthouse, etc. Nice clean sites with power and water. We would definitely stay again. Also half price with our America the Beautiful Pass.

Peaceful, beautiful natural landscape. Choice of power and water or primitive sights. Bathhouses and shower huts for all.

Camp ground was clean. Good camp ground to stay at while in the Outerbanks. It is kind of in the middle of all that you want to see. While there make sure to see the Mustangs up in Corolla Beach. Walk the board walk in the city of Duck.Visit all the light houses. Visit Orange Blossom Bakery and Cafe, and order an Apple ugly. Very good. Don't forget to have a relaxing day at any of the beaches.

Nice campground. The sites need updating to allow for parking of two vehicles.

Campground used to have a one vehicle rule other than your rv... well that must have changed as this year it was a parking lot.. seen sites with boats, dune buggies, two and three cars, etc.. it was like a parking lot. We always have family join us and we had to rent a tent site to park the car, well shame on us.. it was very crowded this trip because of it... Also the beach area was filled with debris, not garbage, but wood debris, ie: trees, bushes, etc., so it wasn't very pleasant.. it was never that way before.. surprised it isn't cleaned up... I hope this changes, as it is a wonderful place to come to...

This is exactly the kind of park we like. We enjoyed walking the beach and watching the birds plus exploring the lighthouses

I love this place. Bottom line up front, and excellent place to camp if you want easy beach access, or are going to the marina. I really like the changes made in the last few years, having the site already booked in advance, no check in at the front, and the vehicle pass etc. waiting at my site. Nice! The sites are a little short for some larger trailers and 5th wheels, but I always seem to squeeze in OK. Most sites, including mine this trip, are fairly level, requiring just one leveling block. If you are on the dune side of the campground, heaven! On the Hway side you'll get some traffic noise, but not too much this time of year (March). I talked to the campground host, a very friendly guy. The bathroom was clean and available, I didn't miss the shower house (closed for winterization) because whoa! that would have been too cold this time of year. One question, if there is a person at the Park Service reading this or a sentient bot: there is a hiking/walking trail behind the dunes on the south side of the beach access road. It is marked as a trail. Yet it only seems to go a half mile or so then it peters out. Was there once more? Will there be more? I enjoyed what their was of it.

Positives-Clean campsite. Great kiosk for electric and water hook ups. The setting was lovely. The grass was mowed. The breeze was welcoming. Short walk to the beach.Negatives- Shower house, dog feces left on the lawn (shame on the dog owners) The road to the beach needs a pedestrian walk so as to be protected from the 4x4 traffic.

This campground has become my favorite. Park rangers patrol every hour and are super friendly. Plenty of room between spaces and you can set up bug screen house/tents next to your camper because there is a ton of space between sites. Pay attention when you are placing your reservations to be sure you get a site that has electricity if you need it because not all of them have it. Some sites are strictly for boon docking.Showers may not be available during the winter months, but the toilet facilities are, at least in the "C" section.Have stayed several times and Noise is never an issue as campers seem to be thoughtful and not play loud music, etc. VERY windy most of the time due to the proximity to the Ocean/Sound, so be prepared for that. NO SEWER- must go across the street to the Marina to dump (no fee) the black/gray tanks. Most people used those portable tow behinds to dump instead of moving their trailers. Bugs are a thing and I have seen a black snake, but it is camping. I was prepared about the snake because someone posted that. I hate them, but I at least knew to watch for them.... It was not big, but they are there. This is my first "go to" for camping. I love it so much.

Everything was fine, except for the lack of feasible winter showers. Come on! You charge full rates but campers are expected to shower in partially open showers?

Loved it here! No frills campground. The weather was brutal over Christmas. The campground host kept everyone informed. Book a site on the outer ring. Better chance at not flooding during heavy rain. Would go back if ever in the area.

Nice quiet campground. We used it as a "home base" while we toured the Outer Banks. Great value for those who don't need a pool, etc.
@JenniferM11870 · Camped on Nov 14, 2020 at Campsite #C29
Good location near all sorts of attractions on the northern outer banks and just over the sand dunes to the beach. No privacy between sites since its practically on the beach, but there was a decent amount of room between camp sites and everyone was quiet and kept to themselves. Very clean camp bathrooms and decent showers. Excellent AT&T cell service. Very friendly park rangers. There were plenty of mosquitoes even in November though, so bring your bug spray if you tend to get bitten. We would definitely stay here again.

Very enjoyable campground. Short distance to the beach. Well manicured. Nice staff, clean facilities and Close to the fishing center. My only recommendation is to bring plenty of mosquito repellent, they will eat you alive LOL.
@BeckyM1667799 · Camped on May 22, 2020 at Campsite #C29
Great location. Good size lots, but pads could be longer or wide enough to park tow vehicle beside camper. A bit noisy on the end of C loop with the beach access road traffic. During busy time you may end up with a cold shower if there is a line. Very windy, secure your stuff. Couldn't ask for a friendlier staff. Closest convenience store about 6-7 miles away. Beautiful beach and clean grounds. Really enjoyed our stay and will be back.
