The restroom/shower area needs to be upgraded substantially. You have to walk through the dunes to access the beach, no public walkway. Sites were odd shaped and no defined tent areas.Don't heed my impressions- go there find out, I won't be returning.

There were sand spurs everywhere in our campsite. Our toddler didnt leave the tent while at the campsite because he was so worried about stepping on them. It had rained the day before and the bugs were just horrendous getting into our tent. Ive been camping my whole life and never had bugs be that horrible in the tent. Ultimately we chose to cut it short.

Love this campground. Well kept and clean. Warm showers. Great location. I like to use it as a base to use the beaches from Salvo to Hatteras. The best tips are to bring a pair of camp shoes for the massive amount of burrs and pick a spot away from Rt 12 to avoid road noise at night.

The location of the campground is great. It's close to these restaurants, stores at Nags Head. And it is right besides the dunes. It took us 3-5 mins walk to the beach. The beach is very beautiful and shallow. Water is very clear at the time we were there. I rate it 4 star not 5 because of the burrs. They are everywhere and not able to control. It stick through our tent and flow with winds . My dogs are victims too. Recommend wear shoes all the time and also put them on for your dogs. Sand flies, mosquitos are also problems. Definitely need to apply the repellent on every inch of your skin. And my dog's belly was bite very bad... Don't forget to apply dog safe repellent for them. I may book again but not in August/September.

Would be nice to have a campfire; maybe allow bundles sold at the office?

Beautiful place to camp...but maybe not this time of year (late nov) due to the sand spurs. Pretty windy, which made for an exhilarating night in the tent!

Always a treat to camp here. Not as many campers as I thought there would be when looking at availability but that works for me!

Great campsites right on the other side of the sand dunes. People were friendly. Showers were nice but there wasnt any hot water or a light to shower at dark. I would recommend

Excellent facilities in a fabulous location. Bathrooms and showers were clean and function well. Campsites among the dunes are beautiful. Beware of burrs - flip flops are crucial at all times!

Great place to camp, especially in Fall and Spring! Walk to the ocean from your campsite for a morning sunrise or afternoon walk. At night the stars are incredible. And, you will be close enough to Nags Head and Manteo to enjoy everything there. It tends to be very windy at the campsite so fires are not allowed. We werent able to keep out charcoal going at dinner and had to switch to out camping stove, so be sure to have a backup plan in case of high winds! Staff are very friendly. Ive stayed here 3 times and have loved it every time!
