Was amazing camping here. It was a awesome place really nice campground. The bugs can be quite bad at night to just be aware. But even with them they didn't ruin our fun.

We tent camped in the NPS Ocracoke campground on 22 October 2021. Everything was perfect (except for the aggressive mosquitoes!). Id like to specifically cite the bathrooms for being simply spotless. Im told that a local young man named Matthew is responsible for the meticulous state of the restrooms and showers as well as for the neat and attractive overall appearance of the entire campground. Well done Matthew! I hope the park service recognizes his diligent and conscientious service. We campers certainly do!

The campground is literally less than a five minute walk to the beach (just over the dunes), which made for a magical evening experience watching the crabs march to the surf at night. The beach was beautiful with large waves, which made for great swimming (though be careful of riptides!). The campground includes well-maintained bathrooms and an outdoor enclosed cold shower, which was refreshing after a dip in the sea. The camp hosts were friendly and well-organized as well, which made us feel welcome upon entering the campground. Be aware that the campground is about three miles from town, however (so, biking into camp as we did would not be recommended).
