This is the cleanest campground I've been to. The staff and the rangers are always the nicest. I forgot his name but he speaks with a stutter but anyway, I always look forward to seeing him there. He's such a hard worker and very kind and accommodating to everyone.

Wonderful being that close to the beach, but our campsite was under water except for the cement pad. Fortunately, we have a van so there was enough room for us to stay on the cement pad when we were out of the van. Nothing anyone could do about the flooding, but wouldn't have worked at all for people with a tent or large camper. Some warning would have been helpful. Cold showers weren't as bad as we'd feared they would be, but hot water would be a lot better. Some plug-in spots would be good too, and a potable water filling station at the dump site. But still a wonderful experience.

The beach is beautiful. The campground is quiet in the evenings. Star gazing is a must. 1718 brewery is a great place to relax and have a drink/meal.

Loud during the day (lots of gasoline generator on the campground) Except that, it was amazing !! Nice beach and spots on campground. Restrooms and showers were not so bad but could be cleaner.

Great location! If you don't use a generator, pick the D loop; I didn't think the sound would bother me, but it was competing with the sound of the ocean.
It’s a great camp ground. It’s clean, beautiful, and right at the beach. It’s outside of town and quiet. One of my favorites.

I have stayed at Ocracoke Campground twice, and twice I extended my visit. It is now my favorite place to get away. Ocracoke Island is a place like no other, and this campground offered everything to make visit memorable.

Great campground with beach/dune access right from our campsite. We enjoyed being here off season as it was pretty quiet (maybe 10% occupied the first week of November). Enjoyed the bike path into town. The only thing that would be needed to bring this review to 5 stars would be to have hot water available for showers. Even if we had to pay quarters or use tokens it would be worth it. We found that the 2 other National Seashore Campgrounds that we stayed at in NC on this trip also did not have hot water showers. We were also disappointed to see politically motivated flags flying high at one camper’s site. We go camping to escape the news and politics but sadly this camper needed to display his political views. I’m all for displaying the American Flag, State Flags, military flags etc. but not political flags no matter what side they are supporting.

Nice, clean, well-maintained campground. Several sites against the dunes offer some small bushes and trees for protection against the wind. Or you can choose the completely open sites on the NW side of the campground. There is no "office" but camp hosts were available if needed.
A great campground on the ocean. Only complaint was the neighbor who felt compelled to run his generator for every hour allowed drowning out the beautiful natural sounds of the surf. People like that should stay in private parks with their gadgets. Too bad I couldn't stay with my quiet motorhome in the tent section.

Perfect location. Close to the ramp and we had a blast parking the truck on the beach and fishing while we were just over the dunes from our campsite. We parked down by the boat ramp next to the ferry dock and rode bikes to see the island. Everything is looking great in the Village! The camping experience here is wonderful!
I was shocked the facilities were open during the off-season. They were clean and well-stocked.

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
