We had the most wonderful experience camping here. The campground was clean, quiet, well-kept, and only steps from the beach. We stayed in our small airstream camper and had ample room at our site for us to spread out and enjoy ourselves. Also a fantastic place for families of young kids to camp.

Great spot, beach is awesome after a walk over the dunes. Having aged a bit I do prefer getting the over sand permit and taking the camp to the beach.

If you know before you go that there is no electricity or water you cant beat this campground. The camp hosts were wonderful, the sites are new asphalt and many sites close to level. The beach access is within 100 yards of the campground and easy to social distance if you are willing to walk a little.

This is a beautiful spot. The ocean and beach are a short walk over the dunes. There are not a lot of trees around the campground but the sites are roomy, so there is some privacy. The park attendants were friendly and helpful. We brought bicycles and biked into town. We are both seniors and do not bike often, but this was an easy almost level ride into town. Water and sewer are located across the street from the campground. We filled up our truck camper with water when we arrived and then pulled in to use the sewer hook up after we checked out of the campground. It is the best star gazing sky I've seen in a very long time! Even better than Cape Lookout!

This was our first time visiting Ocracoke! The weather was very, very, windy and somewhat rainy the first two nights. We would have benefitted from a tent that was more waterproof. We were lucky to have some sand bags for our canopy and that ensured we were protected from the weather and did not blow away! I would recommend extra long stakes, as advised on NPS website, as well as any sand bags you may have access to (Of course, sand is readily available! So the bags will be all you need in tow). Ocracoke exceeded our expectations, and the campground was wonderful. The bathrooms are clean and the shower is cold! The paved area makes it so convenient to camp, and the campground is also conveniently grassy, not sandy! I cannot recommend Ocracoke enough.

Pity no electricity or water. The campground is great. I could easily given it a three, as we were woke up by construction equipment. The reverse is always a loud beep. They first ran sweepers on empty adjoining lots . The gravel and dust blew all over our Motorcoach, and since the windows were open due to no electricity, dust in the coach. My wife has COPE, so not good. Then they started paving. The smell ran us out. Yes, I gave a five, just because of the location, and how nice it will be repaved.

Of all the Outer Banks NPS campgrounds, Ocracoke has the most beautiful beach, which is an easy walk over the dunes. We like the fact that no 4-wheel drive vehicles were on the beach (maybe they're not allowed).
