One of my main critiques is if the site is level and ours was. Access was easy and the location close to the water enable us to get magnificent views and pictures of the sunrise.

Ocracoke is our favorite campground. Beautiful beach!

The campground is great. Just a walk over the dunes to enjoy the beach almost all to yourself. I wish they had warm showers but we knew what we were getting before we went.

Love this campground. Only thing it needs is an updated outdoor shower. No hooks to hang garments.

Such a great campground! Grounds are clean and neat; bathrooms clean and in good operation; excellent location. Your camp hosts, Marilee and Andy are phenomenal! They are keepers. They are so knowledgeable and friendly. Keep up the good work!

Great island, campground, bike paths to town and well kept facilities. My only recommendation is to have recycle bins next to every dumpster to really encourage recycling.

Camp host very helpful. Bathrooms very clean. Campsites had lots of room between sites. Beach was beautiful.

My wife and I go every April and October. It's a no frill campground (no connections) but, it's a great beach setting. Having a 4WD vehicle makes it ever better. Be sure to get your off road pass!

The campsite was wonderful. I loved being so close to the beach and we had a good amount of space for our campsite. Showers are cold but I expected that. The town of Ocracoke was lovely and we enjoyed the surf and off road driving. We did have an issue getting there because the Ferry was cancelled due to extreme shoaling. We were coming from Wilmington and had to drive all the way North and back down south turning the 5 hour trip into an 11 hour one. I don't know if that is usual or not but that was our experience. I would definitely stay here again but if the ferry gets canceled, not sure I'd make that drive again.

We had a wonderful week in this beautiful oceanside campground. The campsites are spacious for tents or large RV's and even on the busiest spring weekend we did not feel crowded. The facilities are very well maintained, convenient and clean every time we used them. The check-in process was easy, and your camp hosts Marilee and Andy are unbelievable! They are passionate and very knowledgeable about Ocracoke and always willing to help. Marilee is familiar with all of the best beach spots, shops, restaurants and places not-to-be-missed on the island. Andy's knowledge of birds and fishing is over the top, and he was even willing to share a few of his "secret" surf fishing spots! We will return to this campground on a regular basis.

The biggest joke of getting a campsite in my life. Cannot pay at the campground entrance. Camp hosts try their best to help but apparantely if you don't have a smart phone, you are just out of luck. Also you have to have a credit card. What a joke. Planning is great for many people - those that want to have their vacations all set before they hit the road. Many people are just traveling, exploring , and being spontaneous - looking for whatever comes their way. So I arrive at Oakracoke - mid week - probably about 1:00 - the campground is less then half reserved. But since I don't live by my phone was not able to jump through the hoops to pay my fee and get a site. Host gave me the phone number to call at Rec.gov to do reservation, but after 45 minutes of being on hold, I gave up and went into town to try and figure something out. Probably took me 3 hours to figure it out. Finally called my 80 year old mother who made me a reservation on her computer. Ridiculous. You are ruining camping for many people. You need to find a way that people can camp with having a phone and a credit card. It's shameful and un-american.
