We camp at Ocracoke a couple of times per year, and as usual, we had a great time. The campsite is well-run, close to the beach and close to the village - without being too close. Good clean bathrooms and showers.

We love Ocracoke and have been coming for years. This is the first year we noticed that the beach in front of the campground is opened to trucks (we usually come off season). The ORV access point is at the beginning of the campground and there was no room for campers on the beach because of the high volume of trucks. We'd like to recommend closing the beach in front of the campground to ORVs. We'd also like to recommend quiet hours start earlier than 10pm. We were in loop d (no generators) but in the first spot so we were still next to a generator spot. We love falling asleep to the sound of the ocean.

Camping under the stars while hearing the roar of waves over the dunes is a dream come true. Highly recommended campground if you can handle outdoor showers and a few stickers in your shoes!

We opted for one of the D-loop sites for our tents with the understanding generators were not allowed. However we were sandwiched between two massive campers who ran generators all day, kept them running past 10pm and kicked them on first thing in the morning. Felt much more like a parking lot than a campground, unfortunately. Maybe this changes during other times of the year or when there are less campers in the park. All this to say, the beach was still beautiful and we had a lovely trip- Just disappointed by the lack of “camping etiquette”.
