Camped in tent on C7 mid April. Excellent spot, close to showers, restrooms and potable water supply. Shrubbery on both sides kept it private and quiet. Trail behind campsite lead the way to the beach, can't go barefoot because of sand spurs, until you reach the edge of the dunes. Totaling relaxing time.

Had a wonderful time, couple with a golden. Great walks on the beach. Wonderful meals in camp and in town. Temperature was ideal for camping. We are coming back.

Great campground--quiet, well-maintained, lovely setting behind the sand dunes. We loved being on the Outer Banks at Okracoke Island.

First off we love Ocracoke, so anytime there is great. BUT ...1. You're reservation system leaves a lot to desire. It was impossible to modify to change sites. The rangers even had difficulty.2. Storm Ophelia came along and we were told to leave by Friday at noon. But this decision was not coordinated with the town or the ferry system. We managed to grab a camping site in town. Some people waited up to five hours to get off the island before the ferry closed down. Some people got stuck at the parking lots because there was no where to go. Some people who got off the island could only make it as far as Frisco. We were lucky that the storm wasn't that bad. But there was definitely lack of communication.

This camp needs a place for dish washing. People are cleaning their kitchen ware on the open shower.

Pros:
- Fantastic location (beach and night sky).
- Decent sized tent-only sites.
- The whole island is cycling friendly.
- Working showers and regularly cleaned rest rooms.
Cons:
- Thorns everywhere (dog walking was a bit hazardous)
- Baths could have some more hanging hooks, maybe?
- Showers
