One lovely night at Ocracoke! Proximity to the beach was great. Incredible stars! Wonderful spot to wake up to on my 34th birthday.

Stayed off-season (Nov) but on a holiday weekend. Still plenty of open spots. Spot C3 was great! 31 total length travel trailer backed all the way up to the curb left me enough room to barely park the truck across the front of the site and still be inside the lines (within 6-8 of not having enough room).Access trail to the beach right behind the site. Beach was nearly empty all Veterans Day weekend. Temps 40s-60s. No mosquitoes at this time of year.Dump site (across street from main entrance) was well maintained. One potable water spigot and one non-potable (with threaded end for tank flush) available.Only downer: Grass in the site and sand in the dune atea are full of sand spurs/sticker burrs so watch out for bare feet and paws. Beach didnt have them.

Beautiful beaches, tons of sand spurs and biting flies on the beach trail and in camp but to be expected, fair trade off to camp in such a gorgeous location. Bathrooms could use updating, showers definitely need updating, deep cleaned, hooks added, new locks and doors without gaps for privacy. Showers were disgusting, filthy dirty with sand, hair, left behind items and hadn't been cleaned on a regular basis.

Lovely time here with family, clean facilities and peaceful experiences.

Clean bathrooms. Very beach like setting. The dunes help blocking some of the strong winds. I like that both here and Oregon Inlet Camp Ground had drinkable water and dump station just across the street...

We had a great time at this National Park campground!! First time we've been on the island in January and we took advantage of a less crowded village. The campground is very clean, well kept with a paved and level site makes a lot of full hook up campgrounds look pale in comparison. The staff was very friendly and well informed. A quick walk to the beach and a ORV ramp right next to the campground made it easy to take the truck out for a day of surf fishing. We will definitely be returning to this campground!

In December it was 98% open. In the off season when it's very open, I recommend going in first, finding a spot you prefer, then go online and reserve. Some spots are wide open, some have more tall bushes for side privacy. Bathrooms are very clean, potable water quality at the dump/ fill site is very good.Spots are all paved, no utilities. Showers are cold water only, and turned off in the winter.4 miles to town, there's a nice brew pub and a few restaurants still open, and a pretty nice grocery / general store, hardware store, and more businesses that are likely open during the peak season. My NPS pass had the campground cost at $14 per day. There is a commercial campground right in town, but I think they wanted $80 per day! Didnt look that good either.I stayed 2 days then took the ferry to Cedar Island. The Oregon Inlet campground would be good to check out as well, and I believe has site utilities and year round showers.

This was our second stay here. We spent 5 nights here this year and 4 or 5 nights here the same week, one year before. The camp sites are spacious enough and the ones up against the dunes are the ones we choose as we like the sound of the surf and the access to the beach. Plenty of water spigots to refill the water tank on our trailer and the dump station across the street is not too bad of a walk with our portable tote tank. We like the bike path to "town" and its about 4 miles all on a flat, well paved path. We prefer to bike into town to get anything we need at the well stocked grocery store and to grab some fresh seafood to grill on the grill. We plan to make this trip to Ocracoke an annual one.

We couldnt stay long but the sunset was absolutely amazing and our spot was nice and quiet. We were on the beach side. The only bummer was the cedar island to ocracoke island and ocracoke island to cedar island ferry. Both times there were mechanical issues so we had to wait 4 and 3 hours for the next ferry. It was actually kind of nice to be stranded a few extra hours so we could explore more

Such a beautiful spot to camp on the magical Ocracoke Island! Definitely try to stay on the dune side if you're there in the summer because there is a nice breeze that helps with the heat and bugs. We loved chasing the ghost crabs on the beach, looking for shells, and then headed into town to cool off in one of the air conditioned spots (love the Ocracoke Coffee shop and our daughter got her Jr. Ranger badge at the Parks office).

Love this place. The location is excellent as the beach, ocean and the village of Ocracoke are all easily reached. The bike path to the village is an excellent addition that enhances this no end.The camp sites are short and have no facilities, so a self contained camping experience in a short RV or tent is needed. The only downfall is that this is a NPS campsite on an island, so that has to be accounted for. We caught the last ferry off the island before a Gale shut down access to and from the island for nearly fours days. Some fellow RV owners were in the Ocracoke to Hatteras ferry line behind us and did not make it off the island before the ferry system shut down due to the sea state.

So fresh clean natural and wide open. The beach is exceptional our pup loved it. I even enjoyed the cold showers. Would come again. Not so packed and crowded and most were very civil and polite.

Camped 2 nights while photographing migratory birds. Excellent campground. Helpful staff. My only complaint (same as Oregon Inlet campground)...no HOT WATER showers! In FEBRUARY! Otherwise, great place to stay.

One of the best locations on OBX for access to a remarkable shoreline. Fun trip across on the ferry, either cedar island or Hatteras. Will be great when they get hot water for the outdoor showers.

Great place to camp! Facilities were clean and in good working order. Access to the beach was a short walk over the dunes from our campsite. For my parents that was a little tough but my husband and I had no problem. We stayed at C3 in a tent and it was pretty windy but we had earplugs to use at night which helped. Great place to stargaze and catch the sunrise. We loved it.
