We really enjoyed our three days at Ocracoke. The campground was great, even though it didnt provide for hookups. And being right next to the beach was wonderful!

The location was gorgeous with plenty of room between sites and very well maintained. Bothrooms were clean, showers were warm (not hot). We had our own [private] beach access. Very close to town for shops and excellent food!

We love Ocracoke Campground and have stayed several times before. The biggest detraction here is no hot water in the showers. You have to be careful choosing a site to ensure its large enough to accommodate your rig. The camp hosts this trip were not what we are used to at National Parks. One couple seemed like "stoners" from the 70's and were not very outgoing or friendly.

Beautiful, well-kept campground. The sign in process is a bit convoluted. You have to scope out a potential site and then track down one of the host to find out if it's available and for how many days. It seems like it would save everyone a bit if it were simply posted on the site. The location of the envelopes requires you to go back to the front side of the campground to sign in. One of the house was charming and the other one, named Robbie was curt. and less than helpful.

Great campground. Very well maintained and clean. Bathrooms very clean. The beach and ocean are a short walk over sand dunes. We would stay here again.

The grounds were much improved over years this year. Bathrooms were much cleaner than the last several years. Enjoyed the 200 years celebration of the lighthouse.

Love tent camping at Ocracoke. The bath house needs attention. I dont think it had been cleaned in ages. Fantastic unpopulated beach! The water was wonderful. We were lucky not to have and rain in four nights, and the stars are amazing when it is the dark of the moon, as it was when we were there. By midnight you can see the milky way stretch from horizon to horizon. It was pretty hot during the day, but a good breeze made it tolerable. Be sure to bring your solar shower bag, if you want a hot shower, the showered only have cold water.

Great campground even when a bit windy. Worth coming back

Visited in the off season, so almost no one in the camp (which was totally our plan!) - Just be advised that most of Ocracoke closes up after November. We were ready, but not much available on the island this time of year. Bugs not bad, especially once the cool of night fell. Clean facilities, we tent camped, but unsure how any travel trailers would work with such small sites. Managed to find most of the sand spurs, but have a feeling we did leave some.
Cell coverage was ok, but did have some dead spots.

My dog and I stayed in late March (off season) and had the loveliest stay. We camped in a tent on the beach side of the campground. The campground had several travelers but was so quiet. The sound of the ocean was all we heard. The facilities were very clean. We will be returning.

We had an amazing experience. Our beachside campsite was very large and spaced part from other sites. We had our own private beach trail access. The campground was very clean and well maintained. Very quiet and peaceful. We will definitely be back!

We stayed one night and had a very good experience: Easy beach access, fairly clean camping area, plenty of space to set up camp, and sufficient shrubs to act as windbreaks. The only real drawback was that the water bottle filling point wasn't functional.
