Mosquitos were atrocious! Warm water showers would help. Allow 24 hour generators.

Beautiful campground that really lacks decent showers with at least warm water. Who ever heard of camping without a campfire?? It's terrible. We always look forward to sitting around a campfire at night doing su'mores with the kids. There's nothing out there that will burn! You can't get sand and crab grass to ignite. All the trees are way on the otherside of the highway. Besides there's a huge fire dept. 3 minutes away.

I have been enjoying the NPS campground in Ocracoke off and on for many many years. Retirement time is going to be frequent flier time on the OBX.

The freezing cold showers kill it for my family. There is a rundown commercial campground a couple of miles away. The owner charges $5 to use his showers and he makes a lot of money from National campground campers. In this day and time surely a basic solar heater could be installed. The entire week I saw two people taking showers at the campground. It's a miserable wat to try to get clean. We don't want saunas just a warm shower.My second big gripe is a simple fire ring for a campfire. Doing Some-mores by a campfire is just basic. We spoke to about 60 campers out there. The response was "charge me an additional $5 in fees so I can have a campfire." A small bundle of campfire wood now sells for $8.95. With the host selling bundles of firewood it would not take long tp pay for simple metal fire rings. The entire campground is sand, crab grass, and scrubby cedar bushes. I really don't think sand will burn so no danger. Hopefully these conditions could be addressed.Thank you

Clean restroom facilities, great beach access. The sites were as advertised. Mosquitoes were surprisingly bad at dusk and dawn. Be prepared for constant wind.

Wonderful time camping at the Ocracoke campground. Beautiful accommodations and well appointed campground. Close to all the good fishing sites and ramp 72.
