Great place to unplug and relax, enjoy nature, fish, ride the bikes, walk on the beach and wake up to outstanding sun rises! Check the weather frequently and bring lot of bugs spray!

Beautiful area, close to the beach, clean restroom, close to the quaint town, and perfect weather. What more could boon docking campers ask for? (I think asking for fewer mosquitos is not within the purview of the National Park Service...)

Spring at the beach. Low 70's, a good breeze, so very few mosquitos. Felt great in RV with all windows open. Enjoyed some good star gazing on a clear night, at this relatively dark sky location. My stay at Ocracoke was great. I did notice that the side of the campground farthest from the dune, had some water ponding in some of the campsites. I was on dune side, so it wasn't an issue. I'll be sure to reserve close to dune next time too. Highly recommend for spring or fall camping.

The campground is great, fantastic beach, site not to close to each other and différent angles so easy to find a site with a good view (other than the back of another RV). The site for reservation is easy to use and very practical. The little town of Ocracoke is fun to walk around and lots of restaurants to enjoy.

Well my overall experience could have been better, but only because the weather was terrible.

We went to Ocracoke mid March. The campsites were just as expected. Having not been there before we wanted to change sites and the hosts helped us with that and were very friendly. A number of the rest rooms were still winterized and as such not available. Had we decided to go in early April, then more restaurants would be available. What we were after was the natural beauty and we had it . Be prepared for ferrys not being able to sail due to weather. We had very high winds one night that made seas rough and causing flooding in Hatteras. Ferrys are the only way on and off the island so be prepared to be flexible.

This site, this campground is beautiful, the beach access terrific. My favorite place to camp on the Outer Banks, I have been coming here all my life.

If you like uncrowned beaches, this is the spot! Walk to the beach from your campsite, ride a bike 3 miles into town for supplies and do some stargazing. Just dont forget the sunscreen and insect spray in the summer months.

Beautiful site. Beach is #1. Only wish they would enforce the no generators after 10pm.

Ocracoke is a beautiful campground, in an incredible and special place. I appreciate having had the opportunity to visit this wonderful place, and I was grateful for the excellent facilities.

Great location and facilities. Well maintained. Only complaint is that some RV campers were not following the 10:00 quiet hours and ran their generators all night. When confronted they were obstinate and refused to comply with the rules. This needs to be more stringently enforced.

This is one of our best experience. The facility is clean and very well maintained. The people are friendly and social with southern charms. The family loves the ocean and the beaches are everywhere without crowd. We love the waves.

Not much to say about a campground that does not offer much other than its natural surroundings. Areas of the campground are still to low when it rains, needs repairs in the showers and either they need to bring in water and electric or extend the generator times. Perhaps a designated area of the campground could be for those who have generators and want to run them all night. Come on NPS, make the experience as pleasurable as possible

We stay one night there, the campground was so quiet. The restrooms were clean. It has indoor and outdoor showers. The beach was amazing (Also try the beach near Pony pen, I was so clean and quiet). The only problem was insects and mosquitos, they were HORRIBLE. The spray is not enough. Looking for another way to repel mosquitos. Personally, I recommend Ocracoke. You may enjoy a free ferry to Ocracoke. The security and staff at Ocracoke were FRIENDLY.In comparison to the Cape point campground that we stay before Ocracoke, Ocracoke was better.
