This is a great quiet place. The Rangers and staff have trimmed up some of the sites to make them more accessible. Most of the sites are small so not extremely big rig friendly. Be prepared for some windy days. There is a great Indian heritage museum right across from the end of the entrance. Ace hardware, food lion and a dollar store within 20 minutes along with gas and market near the entrance and not to far a drive to the ferry to Ocracoke. Be sure to stop in at the old Hatteras weather station/tourist info center. Potable water at the bath house , cold water only showers. No dump stations but you can dump at the Hatteras light campground.

We always love visiting Frisco Campground. The sites are large on rolling hills, and are quite private, enclosed in trees and bushes. Although there were RV generators running up until 10:00pm, we could not hear them because of the foliage. The walk to the beach was beautiful, on a long boardwalk that crosses a grassy area that at night sometimes is covered in fireflies and sometimes deer. We love the Outer Banks and this is definitely our favorite campground.

Site A2, our 27' camper fit fine but a bit tight to park truck too. Rest of site very spacious with alot of bushes around to give privacy yet lots of sun for the solar panels. We toured rest off campground, many sites have great views of ocean but could be a problem when windy. Not many sites have shade though many have bushes for privacy. Bathrooms VERY clean, did not try the 'cold-only' showers. Nice to have dumpsters by each bathroom but I think there should be a recycling option. Quiet (though you could some of ocean/wave noise), Rt 12 far enough away that road noise wasn't prominent. Our stay was early May.

Enjoyed our time at the Frisco campground. Nice shady site and just a short walk to the beach. A dump station and water at the campground would have been nice
