Loved the beach! Campground was very nice. The cacti & prickers were a little rough with kids & dog but we would definitely go back!

Frisco campground is located near the southern tip of Hatteras Island. It's away from the hub bub of the more developed villages. We were there on April 23, 24, and 25. The campground was half full. It's a beautiful spot nestled in the dunes. The sites are pretty close together but the dunes create a sense of privacy. Most sites have long asphalt parking pads for RV and vehicle. Services are minimal. Clean bathrooms, cold showers and waste dumpsters. Water and dump station are at the Hatteras Light Area a 10 minute drive up the road. A nice little store at the end of the CG road supplies gas, some groceries and other essentials. A long boardwalk takes you to the beach which is beautiful. There were a lot of vehicles on the beach as apparently it was prime fishing season. Biking is good as there are gravel roads to explore and the traffic was light on Rt 12 which has a decent shoulder at this end of the island. The free ferry to Ocracoke Island is as the tip of the island and worth a visit. I doubt this is true in the summer. We found the area to be very relaxing and a good way to enjoy the outer banks in the off season.
