Frisco is unlike any other campground - living in the dunes. Be sure to set aside time to just relax and enjoy the scene or wander out to the beach. The night sky (almost zero light pollution) is fabulous. The showers in the park don't have hot water. It can be a bit chilly but... it's better than being dirty! The Frisco Native American Museum (just outside the entrance to the park) is worth seeing. The Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum (down the road in Hatteras) is also well done. A drive up to the Avon Pier is a good excursion. If you're looking for a place to eat, I recommend the Pangea Tavern (in Avon). Check the hours before you go.
