Great campground for us! Walking opportunities from campground (on trails and on the beach), decent sites with protection from sun & wind at many sites, clean restrooms, showers. Sunrises and sunsets from the beach access at the campground. I never saw anyone working at the entrance kiosk the entire 4 days we were there, but someone was working at the campground since the reservation tags were put on campsite posts.

Lovely campground - very rustic with feel of the OBX. That's a pro - the con being that there can be parties on a Sat. night and they don't pick up their trash.

The campsites are great, lots of privacy. Local seafood is fantastic. Weather was perfect, October is the best time to be at Hatteras. Yoga class just outside the park on M, W and F. My only complaint is that the female ranger drove around with a black and blue American flag flying from her golf cart. No wonder everyone camping there was white. No one of color is welcome.

P044 was the campsite we stayed in. This campground has amazing amenities for being a non electric campground. They have nice tiled bathrooms and showers (cold). Filter water station as well as a well water if needed too. They have wood paths that lead all the way to beach. My campsite I will say did welcome us with a cottonmouth when we first arrived it was rather feisty but then headed on it's way. We also did see another snake but we could tell it was a rat snake so it wasn't of bother to us safety wise. If you plan on staying here just be prepared to potentially deal with cottonmouths because they are in the area. We didn't have service in our specific campsite however if you walked down the road 100ft you got signal again so nothing was too bothersome there.

Be ready for all kinds of weather. We have been camping at Frisco for over 20 years and you need be prepared for wind, rain,sun and bugs. Its a beautiful place regardless, and when you can see stars it is really something. Enjoy!

The natural beauty day and night is awe inspiring. Id avoid the campsites on the outside of the loop on the land side. Its buggy.
