Stayed in campsite D6, and we've been to Frisco Campground many times. This site offers a bit of privacy and the place to pitch the tent is sandy, though the sun hits it shortly after sunrise. This was fine for us but could be a downside for late sleepers. We have a strategy for this campground of choosing sites where the tent is up and exposed, for two reasons. First, if you choose a site where the tent pad is down in maritime forest, those spots are inviting for insects. Second, and most importantly, it is harder to catch a breeze through the tent at night. We've learned over time to choose a site where the tent is as elevated as possible. One year, we had a site where the tent was in a depression and the temps were in the low-80s overnight. It was like sleeping in a sauna.

This is my favorite campground anywhere. If you are lucky you can get a site where you can see the ocean over the dunes. It would be nice if they had water and electric because generators can spoil it for those who want to hear the wind through the trees and grasses. There are several boardwalks to the beach plus 4 wheel drive access is right outside the camp entrance. Be careful of small cacti with large needles, however. Also, be alert for cottonmouths who sometimes like to sun on the pavement. I've only seen them a few times, so watch where you step.

Delightful campground. Sounds of the ocean as you drift off to sleep at night. Just a quick walk over the dunes to the beach. Be prepared for insects, ticks in particular. I'm sure flies and other things that bite in the summer. Quiet and peaceful setting

Great area for beach activities. Not much in sights to see but the solitude and relaxation can't be beat. If you are a big rig make sure you pick a sight that is angled and has no obstructions on the road, not many! Sites P01, P04, P05, P18, P26, P46 and P50 would be your best bet. Met some great people and would definitely return.

Frisco campground is an excellent place to stay. Wish for a cloudless night and watch the show. With the sound of the Ocean as background music, watching the night sky is true entertainment.
